We stayed at this hotel with friends from 27 September - 1October. Overall it was a good experience. The room was comfortable - albeit a bit small - but we had the option of upgrading to a superior room for 25 euros. The staff were very friendly, particularly the bar staff, including a lovely Irish lady. The tea and coffee making facilities were a bonus for a European hotel, although the cups and spoons were a bit flimsy. Nice tea though. The location was excellent - just next to the floating flower market and close to Dam Square. We would stay there again, but might consider upgrading to a superior room next time if we could afford it.

Staff friendly and helpful. Communal areas and bedroom clean. Reasonable size room (think it was a superior room). Furnishings very drab which made the room seem very dark. Good choice of english speaking channels on TV. Tea making facilities in room but plastic cups and powdered milk. Very good location - easy walking distance from most of the attractions. Overall a good experience, but would have expected a bit more for the money.

We booked for 4 nights in mid-September as we had previously stayed here 3 years ago. Since then the hotel has been given a face-lift. The rates were higher than normal (we booked through a NL hotel booking site online) due to a big conference taking place during the week but even though they were all busy, the staff were helpful and friendly. For an extra 25 euros a night you can upgrade on arrival to a superior room (50 euros for a deluxe) which is well worth doing if you can! We asked for a room at the front and found it was well sound proofed even though you had the trams and nightlife til late!

Very nice and safe hotel. Flower market is in front of the hotel as well as a vast array of restaurants. Main gay district is just behind the hotel. Everything within walking distance. The farthest we walked (slow walk) was to the Anne Frank house, about 30-40 minutes but every corner has something new to discover. Rooms small but comfotable and extremely clean. Staff is very helpful. Breakfast in the main dining room pricey (euro 15) for what they had but numerous cafes for breakfast around the corner at Rebrandt square.
