After an 8 hour delay leaving Cardiff because of snow we were late arriving to Amsterdam. We booked the Airport Hotel Shuttle bus at the Tourist Information desk at Arrivals in Schiphol (also we bought our 3day bus/tram ticket),The shuttle bus had us at the Hilton in about 10 minutes. The check in was fast and the staff everywhere in the hotel are amazingly friendly and helpful.
We had dinner in Robertos. On Friday nights they have Fish Night which is fantastic, There is a cold buffet spread, then fish soup, then you choose your fish for main course which is cooked to your liking. There must have been at least a dozen different fish and the young Canadian chef was very helpful with choosing and advice. Plus as much wine as you liked to drink !
The next morning we went for breakast (included) I have never seen such a spread, absolutely everything you can imagine even champagne ! The pancakes are to die for, any type of egg cooked for you. Anything you want, nothing is too much trouble , the staff are incredible. We had trouble eating again even at 8pm!
Ask anything at the Concierge they are amazing with maps and knowledge esp Dwight and also Gio who helped us to internet check in our return flight and also booked our return shuttle to the airport.
The room was small but perfectly formed !Inc tea and coffee making facilities, it had almost everything and was spotless. Only slippers and dressing gowns were missing.
The only disappointment for us was that as HHonour members we were not upgraded to the Executive floor ,although we were given a small cake for our Anniversary celebrations.
Yes the hotel is a little out of the centre but the tram is close, frequent and fast even on Sundays.
We would happily stay again.

This is the second time I've stayed at the Hilton and will always go back there in future. The staff are friendly, the service superb and the rooms comfortable (wonderful linen) and spotlessly clean. I can recommend the room service breakfast - eventhough it's a bit pricey, there's tons to eat - and you'll find you won't be wanting lunch.

The only slight drawback is the location...it's a bit far from the city centre. However, a short walk to the tram takes you into the heart of Amsterdam - about a 10 minute ride. You wont be disappointed by staying at this hotel.

I really liked my stay here at the Hilton Amsterdam. After all of the negative comments about the location, here it is in a nutshell: The hotel is a 10-minute walk to Museumplein (so about 15 minutes to the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh, and the Liedseplein). But to walk to the Centraal Area near the train station would take more like an hour. However: There is a tram stop about a block from the hotel, and the tram comes along every 10 minutes--even on Saturdays--and it costs about 1 Euro per ride if you buy a Stripkaart in the hotel gift shop. So as long as you plan your days, and don't need to keep going back to the hotel, this is a great place if you can get a good rate. Nice room with bathroom amenities, several English cable channels, and it's about 10 stories high, so if you get up high you can see really far.

I actually got this hotel on Priceline, so I didn't choose it--it chose me. Still, as an HHonors Gold member, I was upgraded (even though it was a Priceline stay) to the Executive Floor, including evening cocktails and snacks, as well as a breakfast buffet (mostly continental, but really quite nice). The Executive Lounge is a glass-walled rooftop room with great views over the city. Lovely!
The Health Club requires a fee and a reservation (because it's also open to the public, so apparently gets busy at times). I was given a free voucher as HHonors Gold, but I guess you have to pay otherwise. But it looks really nice. I didn't use it, because I ended up being busy with friends.

This was a very nice hotel, but we didn't like the location at all. On a previous trip, we stayed within easy walking distance of Centraal Station, and when we go back, we'll stay closer again. At the Hilton, you had to walk a couple of blocks and catch the tram to go to virtually any of the sights. While it was a nice hotel, the lack of convenience will keep us from going back.

My husband & I usually stay in 5 star hotels. This one is right up there!
It's located about 5 minutes from the nearest Tram and is situated in a quiet suburb of Amsterdam. Our room faced a canal which was breathtaking. We arrived about 10:30a.m. and check in is 3pm. We were exhausted from our flight. I mistakenly booked a room with two twin beds. Upon arrival I requested a queen bed. Without hesitation the registration desk was more than accomodating. They sent us away for 1/2 hour while they contacted housekeeping. At 11am we were in the room with the queen bed, beautiful view of the canal and the bellman saw how exhausted we were, he suggested we put the "do not disturb" sign on the door. We took his advice, slept a few hours and awoke, ready to begin our trip.
The breakfast was included and it was amazing! A real European buffet.
The staff in the hotel were courteous, accomodating and very helpful with directions.
We started in Amsterdam and completed our trip in Paris. This hotel was the most memorable of all the hotels we've stayed in. You will not be sorry!
