“Great for a weekend break”

Nice quiet location near several bars and restaurants. Museums 10 mins walk and tram stop very close and less than €2 to centre. Big, comfortable room with canal view. Great breakfast. All staff very friendly and attentive.

Love it here, definitely would love to come back nothing to complain about at all! Staff are amazing and helpful... The canal view is amazing and looks better at night. 20 euros into central Amsterdam by taxi FYI but you can hire bikes for as long as you need which is great!

Stayed here for first/only night in Amsterdam. As a Hilton, it probably goes without saying its nice. What really helps is its accessibility to the city while maintaining exceptional standards for one to enjoy for sleep, etc. Nothing exceptional outside of Hilton’s brand, but its all good and fine. Stay here for assured comfort, though probably lacking in local authenticity.

This Hilton was incredible; the facility, the staff the food. We had breakfast each morning of our week long stay and now i wish i could go there every morning for breakfast. The staff at Breakfast was the best; from the when you walked in to the wait staff to the Executive Breakfast Chef, Johnny. His blueberry pancakes were the best i had ever had.
the personalized service the the best.
There was a citywide power outage during our stay the the hotel staff were exceptional. They handled it better that you can imiagine.
The rooms are great and if you can be lucky enough to get a canel view you will most likely spend some time looking out at the canel and that part of the city. The other side is not a bad view either, you can't lose.

Room Tip: can't go wrong with any room, but if a canel view room is availbable, take that one

The Hilton hotel was built in the early 60s and frankly still looks that way outside. Inside the property and guest rooms have been renovated. The hotel is most probably best known for the John Lennon/Yoko Ono bed-in interview in the late 60s. By the way, that special room, in the historically bed-in look can still be booked.

My stay was at the club level on the ninth floor.

Here is the good: due to the design of the hotel every room has obstructed views of Amsterdam (see pictures). Situated in a residential neighbourhood it is nice and quiet, however, therein also lies the problem of not being in the CBD. That said it is only a 10 minute walk to Amsterdam Zuid (South). The rooms are modern despite the positively hideous wallpaper (see pictures). Simple white walls would have given the room a much fresher and newer look. The service is very good, friendly, and courteous. Housekeeping is quick, unobtrusive and diligent. The club on the 10th floor was very nice and breakfast was plentiful and relaxing.

Here is the bad: there is the not-so-central location and the aforementioned hideous wallpaper. Furthermore, in my room there was some obvious water damage that had not been repaired for a very long time. Although more of a cosmetic problem (see pictures), it is not acceptable for a luxury hotel. Most annoying was the fact that many rooms still have two double beds on wheels that are pushed together. Firstly, the squeeze overtime you just turn around and not nice if you are their with your partner - King-size is standard nowadays. As it is in a residential neighbourhood it is very quiet, however, due to the older style/interconnected air conditioners you will hear the AC even if yours if off and the neighbour is running his/hers.

Overall it is a very good property for vacation, to relax and for doing business in Amsterdam Zuid.

Room Tip: All rooms have unobstructed vies of Amsterdam

I stayed for 6 nights in a corner room facing the canal. It was really spacious and tastefully decorated. I was hesitant about staying in a hotel out of the Centrum/Center of the city, but it's a short ride on the #16 tram and within walking distance of the major art museums. Turns out, it was great because of all the great little boutiques and restaurants nearby. So, location was excellent. The service was also excellent. Very friendly staff. The complimentary shoe shine was also very much appreciated, as well as the bottles of water and nice bathroom toiletries. The wifi was fast and free for Hhonors members, so if you're not a member, join! The outside restaurant wasn't quite ready because it's still cold out, but it was very pleasant to sit outside on the warm days watching the boats go by. I would stay here again on my next visit.

Room Tip: A higher floor facing the canal for the nice views
