Dear Felice,

Thank you for your review about Hilton Amsterdam.

I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay and that you liked our location. The canal at the back of our hotel provides a wonderful view, indeed. In the summer you can see the boats sailing by and on a cold winter day you can even enjoy some traditional Dutch figure skating. Either by trying it yourself or as a spectator from the comfort of our Garden Terrace with a hot chocolate to keep you warm.

Your comments regarding the concierge are taken very seriously and are immediately shared within the team for future development.

I hope we may have the pleasure to welcome you back again with us soon.

Best regards,

Last night I stayed at this hotel. I was not impressed.

When I tried to check in the receptionist was mainly paying attention to other people and she made me wait a few times. After check-in I went to the bar for a drink where I ordered an Apple Martini, which the waitress was not sure she could provide me with. What I eventually (after some 10 minutes) got, was a whole of vodka with only the slightest hint of apple. The accompanying rice snacks were also not crispy and had gone stale.
The room was okay, but not very spacious and one of the walls in the room seemed to be damaged a bit. The next morning I received my wake up call at 7:30am, while I had asked one for 6:30am. And when checking out the receptionist only pointed out where I needed to sign the receipt, but did not ask me how my stay was.

Overall just a disappointing experience. For 200e per night I had expected a lot more.

We recently stayed at the Hilton Amsterdam for a total of 5 nights. The views of the canal are outstanding. The hotel room was clean, well appointed and comfortable. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood outside of the hustle and bustle of the city. Still, it is a 5 minute walk to catch the tram, number 5, 16, and 24, take you uptown and you can get off within walking distance of any location. There are also some outstanding restaurants surrounding the hotel within a 10-15 minute walk! We would definitely stay there again!

Having stayed previously in city centre hotels in Amsterdam with the street noise, etc, the Hilton Amsterdam is a dream. Only 10 minutes away from the centre by tram or taxi, it is located in a quiet neighbourhood and the rooms are comfortable and spacious.

The reception staff and concierge staff are extremely helpful and polite and the restaurant has to be the best Hilton restaurant where we have had breakfast and/or lunch. We were warmly greeted upon arrival at breakfast and with an exceptionally good breakfast buffet, plus the offer of items cooked to order, we cannot fault it.

We also had the opportunity to have lunch there and it has to be one of the best ever meals taken in a hotel restaurant (Roberto's) - almost as if in a high-class independent restaurant off-site. Highly recommended and not over expensive.

We would stay here again in any future stay in Amsterdam.

We stayed here one night after staying downtown and were so glad we did. We were automatically upgraded to a large room due to our Hilton honors Gold status and received executive lounge access. The rooms are spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The bathrooms are also large and very nice. Limited amenities but two restaurants on site. The breakfast was one of the best we have had- with Gold status we were seated in a smaller quieter dining area overlooking the canal. There is a buffet and you can order special items such as an omelette or prosecco. Walking distance to the tram to take downtown or to the airport (you can buy tickets from concierge) Vogel park is within walking distance as are several restaurants (or you can rent bicycles). The area is quiet and very pretty and we would stay here again, and recommend to F&F.

Hiltons can be a bit hit and miss but I am pleased to say this one wasn’t and was very nice! The main areas were smart and the suite we had was lovely and airy. The location is pretty and seems to be in a nice area and good to go back to after the busy areas of the city. Service was consistent by reception and restaurant staff. Small issue we came across, they advertise private boat trips and upon asking we were told that it was for ‘other people’ not quite sure what that meant so pushed for more information and the response we received was rather unusual. ‘it’s for other people who spend 450euro for two hours you are better to go to the canal’. The concierge missed the point, we were looking for a private romantic tour and we did feel as if we were somehow not suitable for such activities! Other than that, good hotel

Room Tip: Suite and go for one with a balcony. It dosent have a view but you can open doors so in the summer...

Friendly staff, very good service. But I've had better breakfast in 4 star hotels, and far better bed in 3 star hotels. The aircondition was extremely noisy. And the internet connection is a disgrace. Internet in your room (both wifi and cable) is 25 euros pr day! Free wifi in the lobby area, but only 8 hours.

We had a very hard, creaky bed. They tighened the very lose legs on the bed, but the noise was still there. At breakfast, we were served tea made from teabags, and the breakfast staff clearly discriminated between guests from standard rooms and guests from suites, even though the breakfast deal was supposed to be the same.
