“Good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

This is a nice hotel, very helpful staff and a good location. I have to mark it down one star though because the rooms are a little tired inside and we were put into a room on the first night that had a faulty aircon unit. Our room was so hot that naked and uncovered we were sweating and dehydrated from the heat. We were given a fan in the night and moved to a suite the next morning. The duty manager was very apologetic and jumped through hoops to make amends, which we did appreciate. However I believe 5 star hotels shouldn't be left to get so tired and things should be maintained properly. Aside from that hitch we thought the hotel was in a nice location. A short walk to the trams and a bit further on and you are at Museumplein and if you fancy a longer stroll you can easily walk from the centre. Breakfast service was friendly and efficient as were all the staff.

“Great hotel in Amsterdam but in a quiet neighborhood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

I have stayed here at least 5 times. alot of times i couldn't get anything in city center and this is the second best choice. it is walkable to the heart of the city but after a nite out it isn't a bad idea to take a taxi back. very cool neighborhood. right on a canal and on a treed street with nice houses. also the hotel made famous by john and yoko. i used to know the suite number but not anymore. has a good restaurant: up to the usual high HIlton standards. also had access to the business lounge on top of the hotel. neat views and free liquor and hors d'ouveres (sp?) .

“Great, but....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

Stayed here for one night, and I did receive an upgraded room as a HH gold member. The room I was assigend was a cornersuite with a connecting door to another room. That is the problem! The noise from the other room was unreal. I could actually literally hear the conversations the person in the other room had and every noise he/she made. Couching, laughing, the tv, the alarm the shower, roomservice everything. That should not be the case, in a hotel with this classification. The restaurant is very good, the meeting rooms are good, the location is good, in the vicinity of the exclusive PC hooftstraat in Amsterdam whee you will find all the major designer brands, e.g. Louis Vuitton et cetera.
The executive club room was supposed be the open till 23:00 but when I arrived there at 22:15 there was absolutely nothing available, except some dried out sweating pieces of cheese. Not even a bottle of water or other beverage. One almost empty bottle of wine. Disappointing actually. Service at the reception and in the hotel is very good, although not all staff has a restaurant training probably. For leisure I would not stay here and for business only if I have to. Good hotel, but definitely not focusing on the details that make a stay worthwhile.

Room Tip: No connecting door room, and make sure it is not close to service doors and elevators. Really noisy

“Brilliant Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2012

The staff are very attentive at this hotel. The rooms are nicely set up and the showers are superb!
Didn't have dinner here. The staff are very helpful and are keen to make your stay as good as it can be, cannot rate this high enough. I stayed in room 815, it overlooked the canal and was fine for me :)

“Very good, nice location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2012

Very good hotel, located in a great area of town - 10 minute tram ride into Dam Sq which was really no hassle at all and perfectly placed for access to and from the airport.
Great service from all staff encountered, spacious room with great canal view and very comfortable bed. Only minor complaint was the adjoining door to the next room, whose occupants were ever so slightly audible through it. Other than that, very, very good
