Stayed at the Hilton after staying at the Movenpick for 2 nights. Movenpick was great, good location, however the Hilton is out of the way, decided to walk to it from Central Amsterdam, and probably about 45 mins walk at least. The Hotel is fairly unattractive, however luckily had a room facing the rear of the hotel, with a lovely view over the river. Rooms were nice, location wasn't ideal, and after having stayed at the Movenpick the night before, this was a bit of a let down (in terms of location and decor) however nice place to stay for a quiet break

Stayed here for 4 nights on the 14th/18th March with my daughter. Hotel is in good location, excellent choice of restaurants in easy walking distance and with the Amsterdam Card easy access to city centre by tram.
From the outside hotel has "dated" look and bedrooms and bathrooms were moderately sized - similar to good 4 star in the UK - not 5 star standard. They also had a "dated" look.
Food and beverage was excellent, although seriously expensive. Staff were extremely helpful in all departments with the exception of one member on the Friday afternoon in the bar.
Not the best of Hiltons that I have stayed in - the Malta Hilton is newer and better.
Hotels in the Netherlands would benefit from being quality graded as we have in the UK and not just facility graded. This would mean that all aspects of a 5 star hotel would have to be 5 star and they would have annual incognito inspections.

Stayed in this hotel on a quick overnight trip to Amsterdam. Hotel is not located in the centre but is easily accessible from Central Station with Tram 5/24 to Appolaan ( about 15 minutes ) which appears to be an upscale residential area. Hotel is not a pretty looking building but the lobby interior is pleasant looking towards the canal.

This location is very handy if you are planning to spend a lot of time visiting the musuems which are quite close.

The hotel backs on to the Canal and has a nice garden that you can sit in and enjoy the view.

My stay was generally pleasant although the AC in my room did not work properly so I found it difficult to sleep. Bed was very comfortable. TV in the room was too small.Channel selection was good. Robes and slippes provided also.

Had Room Service which arrived on time and was pleasantly presented there is a €5.00 service charge.Food and beverage is generally pricey in the hotel.

Internet is available in the room both wired and wireless at a charge that was not displayed.

Overall I found every member of staff that I met to be genuinely freindly and helpful- can recommend for this alone.

We arrived about 7:00 am and without previously arranged an early check in, were given a room with no hesitation or problems. Great room, nicely updated and huge bathroom. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful with directions to and from attractions. Executive lounge was great. Overall great stay.
