This nice theatre is on Nes, which is a street behind Rokin in the heart of Amsterdam. Lots of small theatres there, but mostly Dutch productions. The Comedy Theater is a stand up comedy venue, with free open mic on wednesdays, professional performances on thursday to saturday. Mostly Dutch-spoken, but on fridays (check their website for the new season) they have international night. This is English-spoken, good night out. There is a small bar in the theatre, which is of good night-club size. The atmosphere is somewhat between club and theatre. The beer is not too expensive and you do not get a pushy waiter at your table to make you have one more round of drinks (like at the comedy cafe). You can get a 'tosti' or some snack, but nothing fancy. Afterwards and before the show, the comedians will be hanging around, having a drink at the bar or a cigarette outside. It all feels very easy-going.
