“Room only for sleeping”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2014 via mobile

2★ Room was a bit pricey. Very clean but so small i felt claustrophobic. Morning sickness didn't help matters but unfortunately no offer of free upgrade when my husband explained my situation. Had to leave a night sooner than planned however I would stay again in a bigger room. Hotel has a lovely atmosphere and spotlessly clean.

This was my first trip to Amsterdam so initially, i really didn't know where to stay. Had stay at Hotel The Exchange for 2 nights and i found the hotel to be really amazing! The location is just perfect, it is located around 300 metres from Amsterdam Central and Dam Square. Amsterdam Central is where your train will be arriving/ departing where Dam Square is where you can find Madame Tussaud, H&M, souvenirs shop, etc. The room is a bit small, but it is highly practical and decorated fashionably. There are many souvenirs shop around the hotel, Red Light District is only 5 mins walk from the hotel. Halal food is also 2 door away from the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel, thank you Hotel The Exchange for making my first trip to Amsterdam a wonderful one, love from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

The hotel is a short walk from the Central train station. The rooms are small but clean, pleasant and unique. Wifi is included in the price and overall atmosphere is cozy. I would stay again and recommend to visitors looking for something practical and affordable but with some style.

We stayed for just 1 night at The Exchange and couldn't fault it for what we needed.
Excellent location, walking distance from the Central Station which was great for us as we were short on time and just wanted to dump our things and go!
About a 5 mins walk to Dam Square in one direction, 5 mins to The Red Light District in another. Directly opposite the Stock Exchange so easy to find on maps.
A refreshingly different layout and style of hotel, very quirky rather than boutique as some people on here seemed to be expecting. Winding corridors with fab fashion artworks on every floor. We arrived very early before check in but was pleasantly surprised our room was ready so checked in straight away. We were in 'the handbag room' as we called it, perfect for 2 girls! very simple, very clean. Everything you needed really. And a safe in the room to use free of charge, always a bonus addition. Friendly and helpful staff. Great little cafe attached to the hotel, very convenient. What more could you want really?!

It was a great stay at your hotel. Your staff was really helpful and cooperative in nature. And my special thanks to Ms. Rossana and Mr. Steven as they helped us in keeping our luggage safe and provided us a lot of information during our tour which turned out to be very helpful.

Recommended for solo traveller or young couple.

Besides a great location, the staff is very nice and helpful and the beds and pillows are just perfect! The rooms are nicely decorated. This time we got a very cute black and white room. We stayed there twice and when we travel to Amsterdam again The Exchange will surely be our choice again.
