We stayed for three days from 31st July for a city break with friends. We had a lovely stay and the hotel is perfect if you want to be close to, but not right in the thick of things.
The rooms are compact but have everything you need- tea, coffee & kettle
, fabulous shower and bathroom, good views across Amsterdam (we were on floor 13). The breakfast was very good with lots of choice- eggs, sausages, fruit, breads, cereals etc. Good coffee & tea too!!
The hotel is very clean and light and airy. Reception staff were very friendly and efficient. The shuttle from the airport is free but is 5euros back, again very good service. There is a luggage room available once you've checked out where lockers are available for free.
The tram stops almost opposite the hotel and we didn't have to wait long at all. You can buy your tickets on the tram - We paid about 12 euros for 2 days so good value.
We did a canal tour for two hours (excellent way to see the city at a leisurely pace). By far the best tour is a walking tour around the city. We used Sandemans. It was so interesting and our guide was so knowledgeable (he was Irish) & very passionate about Amsterdam. The tour is free & you pay what you think the tour was worth at the end. You pick the tourguide up outside the tourist office opposite the station
All in all, we had a great break and loved the Ramada hotel. Would definitely recommend for a break and hope to go again one day.
