“Very enjoyable stay! Ramada Apollo is a lovely hotel.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

We stayed for three days from 31st July for a city break with friends. We had a lovely stay and the hotel is perfect if you want to be close to, but not right in the thick of things.
The rooms are compact but have everything you need- tea, coffee & kettle
, fabulous shower and bathroom, good views across Amsterdam (we were on floor 13). The breakfast was very good with lots of choice- eggs, sausages, fruit, breads, cereals etc. Good coffee & tea too!!
The hotel is very clean and light and airy. Reception staff were very friendly and efficient. The shuttle from the airport is free but is 5euros back, again very good service. There is a luggage room available once you've checked out where lockers are available for free.
The tram stops almost opposite the hotel and we didn't have to wait long at all. You can buy your tickets on the tram - We paid about 12 euros for 2 days so good value.
We did a canal tour for two hours (excellent way to see the city at a leisurely pace). By far the best tour is a walking tour around the city. We used Sandemans. It was so interesting and our guide was so knowledgeable (he was Irish) & very passionate about Amsterdam. The tour is free & you pay what you think the tour was worth at the end. You pick the tourguide up outside the tourist office opposite the station
All in all, we had a great break and loved the Ramada hotel. Would definitely recommend for a break and hope to go again one day.

i stayed with my family of 5 the first week of august ,due i use to stay & work in asia its difficult to compare with the asia hotels ,and for Dutch standards its rated as excellent .
just some constructive feedback from my 7 nights stay
-the shuttle bus pickup service was great ,nice smiley and friendly driver ,you can see that he enjoy his work
-check in was fast and smooth(friendly staff )it seems that they have some work pressure ,the lobby is not 'Grand" and seems that there is some missing Deco on the back counter ,thats my feel ,also a helping hand for the luggage will be nice due had a lot to handle ,maybe i am spoiled !
- breakfast during my stay, everyday fully booked and it was always the same with no variation ,maybe should consider an life egg station where the tea display now is and integrate a asian congee and noodle station ,due i see that at least 70% off the guest was chinese .
also several days we clearly noticed that staffing level is a bit on the low side .
-the rooms where kept clean and tidy for a extra bed in the room the space is a bit small .
-overall its a great hotel to stay ,we loved the area and its easy to walk to the DAM square ,but you can take the tram also .
we will visit Ramada Amsterdam Again

Room Tip: good for families with kids ,nice park around

Stayed here for 4 nights on a deal with travel zoo . Excellent value in school holidays . We were given a corner suite with was massive and had a fridge to keep our drinks and snacks cool . Breakfast excellent - lots of choice , our son loved pcncakes with Nutella every morning !
Staff friendly and in a great location only 10 min on the tram - I Would hate to stay right in the centre with the masses of tourists - this is lovely and right next to the park . Would stay here again !

I must say my stay at the Ramada Apollo Hotel in Amsterdam has to rank in the top 2 hotel experiences that I have ever had. The rooms were very clean. Hotel had great amenity options, an airport shuttle, free wifi throughout the hotel, and modern style rooms. The hotel is also located about one to two minutes walk away from the # 13 tram that takes you to Central Station (Amsterdam city centre). Train ride takes 10-15 minutes to get there. While all those things are great, what put this experience over the top was the outstanding customer service we received from the staff. Especially from Raymond and Stan. They went way above and beyond to accommodate our needs and we greatly appreciate them for it. When you are looking for a nice, clean hotel at a good value in a convenient location in Amsterdam, I recommend the Ramada Apollo Amsterdam Centre hotel.

The ramada is a very nice modern hotel. The double room was nicely decorated and very clean but perhaps a little small.

We had requested a room with a view of the park on a high floor which we got number 1608. Unfortunately this room was directly under the stairs in the skybar so heard people clunking up and down. Wasn't anything to complain about much though and we did ask for it!

The hotel is outside the city in a residential area but tram 13 takes you to central station in about 15 mins. We purchased the Iamsterdam 48 hour card at the airport which was great for getting around.

The park beside the hotel is lovely. The zoo is also worth a visit.

We had the best stay ever!

What a wonderderfull hotel & friendly staf!!
The reception staff helped us out with our special requirements and made our stay really pleasant!

We stayed here for 3 nights and had dinner in Floor17 every night.

Floor17 is a very nice bar & restaurant and the staff is very professional, friendly and courteous.

A very special thanks to roy & mark for making us lovely cocktails everyday!

A really big plus is the breakfast area, to wake up with fresh coffee and the best view over Amsterdam from the 17th floor is really amazing! The staff here is also really polite and friendly!

Thank you Ramada & Floor17

Room Tip: Take a top floor room for the best view!

We stayed here for a two night break. The free shuttle from the airport was brilliant. The unexpected free upgrade to an executive suite on the twelfth floor with its gigantic bed and stunning views was a wonderful surprise. The hotel facilities were excellent and everything was spotlessly clean. The bar on the seventeenth floor served divine cocktails, and had brilliant views of the city with a chilled out vibe ( and a smoking lounge!).
We bought 48 hour travel cards from the tourist information on arrival at Schipol for only twelve euros which meant we could hop on and off the trams all weekend. The hotel is ideally situated on line 13 and is only about fifteen minutes from Dam Square.
Really enjoyed this break, am totally chilled now! Would stay here again.

Room Tip: We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite. I would pay the extra and book one!
