“Excellent hotel to stay at”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

Stayed in Ramada Apollo Hotel with a friend at the beginning of October. The hotel is amazing, everything is new and modern, the staff is very friendly and helpful, there is always a hello (good morning) from them each and every time you walk by the reception. You can check in at any time, they will give you an access to a secure luggage room, where you can leave your belongings whilst your room is getting cleaned and ready to be occupied. All staff has a good knowledge about the area, they are happy to help you with anything you need. The rooms are clean, comfortable beds, even though a sign in the bathroom says they won't give you fresh towels each morning to save the environment they are happy to provide you fresh ones if requested, I didn't request them but had fresh ones put every morning. I stayed in a deluxe room with a beautiful view. The bar and the restaurant is on the 17th floor, highlight of this hotel. Breakfast is served from 6.30 until 11.30, with fresh bakery, fresh juices, cereal, sausage, eggs (read a few review, its true, the scrambled eggs is a bit dry, but there is plenty other things to chose from) The Bar 17 seems a bit chaotic, most of the staff is young and the place is really busy, but they still try their best. This has nothing to do with the hotel, but when you check out you get charged for a city tax. There is a tram number 13 that gets you to the city center, you can buy a anytime ticket for trams and buses (GVB company only) for 16 Euros, its valid for 72hour/3days. Anyway back to the hotel, remember you have a free shuttle to the hotel from the Shiphol Airport. Would like to thank the manager Stan and his great team for all their hard work, we enjoyed our stay at your hotel and wishing you all the best and success. Thank you!

Room Tip: I stayed in a room 1010 on the 10th floor, great view and you wake up to the a sunny morning every d...

This hotel is fairly new and very clean. Staff is very courteous. The room is on the small side but the bed is very comfortable. The breakfast that was included in my stay was good with ample amount of choices. Vey nice view of the city from the 17th floor. The only drawback for me is that it's a little way off from the city center although there's a tram stop near the hotel. Another is that there is no bathtub that water runs into the bathroom floor when showering.

We have just returned after a 4 night stay at the Ramada Apollo in Amsterdam.

The hotel is lovely and the staff couldn't be more helpful and are very friendly too. We were given a room upgrade on arrival to the 10th Floor (room 1003) and this had the most amazing views over the city. The room was cleaned every day contrary to what other reviewers have said.

Didn't eat in the hotel however we did have drinks on the 17th Floor which again has the most amazing views and the cocktails were very reasonably priced. The staff were lovely in the bar too.

The hotel location is only 10 mins tram ride from Dam Square and the tram service is very regular and a cheap way of getting about the city with a 24 hour ticket costing you 7.50 Euros. The stop is just outside the hotel which we found very safe and quiet.

All in all excellent hotel and lovely city to visit which you must go and see for yourselves.

At central station take tram 13 or hotel has a shuttle bus service from airport every 30 mins.

The hotel is situated very close to the tram link (less than 1 minute walk) which takes you right in the heart of the city. €7 for a 24 hour tram pass was a bargain.

The hotel is clean and tidy, staff were friendly. No swimming pool at the hotel but of course the price reflects that. £80 for a twin delux room was a good price for us. The rooms are a little small but enough room for a short city break. Beds are comfortable. Shower was very good and bathroom was very clean which is good to see. No new movies to watch on TV so just the usual standard stations.

Staff met our requests I.e requesting for more tea bags & sugar. Unfortunately the rooms have NO BISCUITS which is a big no no for me.

Top bar was very nice with sky views across the city and had a great atmosphere.

Overall it was a great hotel which I would highly recommend and would use again.

We booked this hotel even after reading all the negative reviews and I'm so happy that we did! The metro is right outside the hotel (maybe a 2 min walk), the area isn't as bad as what some people describe it, we stayed there for 1 week and had absolutely no problems.

The check in was very easy, receptionist was very very helpful. Our room... WOW! We were on the 12th floor and had a corner room which was beautiful, even better at night with some view of the city. Our TV was programmed for sections of the hotel, it even said welcome with our names when we first got in. Our bed, pillows and blanket soooo comfy, the area is really quiet so we had the best sleep in the week we stayed there. I can't comment on the breakfast as we didn't get that option but we did order some pizza for room service once and it was really nice (it turned out really expensive after the service fee so i wouldn't suggest that).

The bathroom was beautiful, the only negative thing i have to comment on, our bathroom didn't have a power point so it made it hard for me to do anything with my hair so i had to use the reflection of the painting next to our bed haha other than that a wonderful hotel.. We were both a little upset that we had to leave actually. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room, bigger, better and a beautiful view.
