“Quiet, modern, clean and reasonably priced”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Stayed for four nights over valentines week.
Hotel is a half an hour walk to the centre, 10 mins to the Van Gogh museum and others and 15-20 minutes from the lovely long city park - vondelpark.
The tram is about ten mins walk away and there are two stops you can use near the hotel.
The room was reasonably sized with a big double bed, decent tv, minibar, complimentary water and apples every day. Tea and coffee making facilities, which were replenished every day.
Only gripe around the room is that it was too hot, even though it was freezing outside. Did fiddle with air con etc and turn radiators down, but still felt a bit too warm for us.
Service was friendly, polite and welcoming, used reception to print theatre tickets and borrow euro adapter and both times the receptionist was sweet, friendly and natural.
Didn't try the restaurant but the menu did look good although we did have a room service breakfast on one of the days which was on time, hot, substantial and tasty.
Not sure what the other recent reviewer is on about with their experience of the hotel as we found it to be very good. Only wish it was a bit closer to the centre. Would strongly recommend and would use the hotel again.

Took my family for a weekend visit to Amsterdam and had to find accommodation for six at short notice when our original apartment booking let us down. We booked three twin rooms and were very impressed by the hotel, its friendly and professional staff. The rooms were adjacent and very comfortable. They suited young and old. Would book this hotel again. Tram tickets for two days from reception made journeys in and around Amsterdam very accessible.

Dated hotel, with not an amazing service in the lobby ( a smile could help).
Not useful Fancy coffee machine loosing water in the room ( unusefully spacious with a long corridor), and very cold room ( the heating was switched off). If you switch on the hot air it will be so noisy that you cannot sleep. Also outside noise ( probably water pipes do not help a good sleep). Parking expensive and not practical ( few places) .
NO tooth brush, empty vanity kit, toilet brush left inside the toilet.
Price too high for such a hotel (and do not try to ask for a late check out of a couple of hours: they will charge you every minute)

Room Tip: Go to another hotel

My husband and I stayed here for three nights recently. The experience was average. The staff were kind and courteous. The room was ok. It seemed a bit dated, but did the job. I liked that it is close to Museumplein, but it is not convenient if you want to venture into the city center.

Spent 2 days during my last short trip.

The hotel is located in a nice quiet area called oud zuid.

It is only 3 minutes away from the next tram station from where you can quickly reach central Amsterdam, or go to the subway station which is 2 tram stations to the south.

The room was clean and the size was ok. The bathroom had a bathtub and a shower.

High-speed internet was available for free.
I arrived 3 hours early because I took an early flight from vienna, and that was no problem.

From the hotel you can take a nice 50 minutes walk to central Amsterdam, taking you through the museum quarter ("Museumplein"). The Vondel park is also in walking distance from the hotel.

Unfortunately we did not have enough time to pick some of the bicycles they rent in the hotel - Going by bike seems to be the most popular way in Amsterdam.

Overall it was an excellent hotel I can highly recommend to any travelers.

I've just spent one night at this hotel. If you want a quiet, good value hotel for a business visit then I'd recomend it.

The rooms are a fair size and the decoration and furnishings of a high standard. I'd characterise the hotel as being slightly tired but well maintained. In my room for example the window wouldn't close, the tap (one of the modern single mixer flow and temperature handles) came of in my hand (but was operable) and the water pressure was weak.

The food is good and in particular the brekafast was excellent. Delivered spot on time to my room with a wide range of options selected and the bread and croisaant wrapped in baking paper bag to keep it warm and fresh.

Service is not the best: When we checked in there was no offer to help either me or my colleague with our luggage to get to our room. When I ate late in the bar the staff didn't get my full order and left me alone for 20 minutes so I couldnt ask for water etc. Checking out I waited for 10 minutes whilst the single receptionist dealt with the customer in front of me. I wouldn't mind but during this time several front office staff came in and out of the office behind reception and ignored me. So overall the service is slack.

The hotel is good value.

This hotel is very nice...located in a street and very quiet area.
The furnishings and style of the hotel are very pleasant on the eye.
The bar, restaurant have very good service and great choice.

Really liked the room and it was very clean and tidy. Room smelled fresh and clean and the bed was very comfy. Fantastic nights sleep and not disturbed once.

This is a very nice hotel with great service and overall it was excellent.
