“Good hotel nice area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Got recommended this hotel by a friend and was very pleased we did as we had never been too Amsterdam before. Its in a nice quiet area(oud zuid) next door to the Hilton. The staff was very attentive the room was clean and spacious free bottled water and apples every day. We never ate in the hotel during our stay as there are numerous cafes in the area which did lovely breakfasts at a better price than 22 euros. Where the hotel is situated the journey into the centre is very easy for 16.50 euros you can buy a 72 travel card and go any where on the trams and the number 2 and 16 was a 5 min and 10 min walk away and a 15/20 minute trip and if you didn't want to eat in the centre the hotel restaurant was good as well as a few local ones. All in all if I go back to Amsterdam I will stay at the hotel Bilderberg again it was good.

This is a wonderful hotel in a quiet suburb of Amsterdam. Rooms are spacious, clean, and the free apples are a sweet touch. Staff are super friendly. The small 'let downs' is the €17 charge for wifi and the expensive breakfast (even if pre booked) which we didn't try. The hotel is a short tram ride away from the centre (10 mins) or a 15 min walk from Leidseplein (Hard rock is located there), and a further 10 to Dam Square. The night bus Stops a 5 min walk away. Have chosen this area (Oud Zuid) on the numerous visits to Amsterdam for the better price and quiet relief from the hustle and bustle of the centre. Would certainly stay again.

We booked this hotel thanks to a very convenient expedia deal. Really nice hotel in very quiet residential location. You can easily reach the center by tram but after midnight you have to rely on night buses, which don't run very often and take longer. We ended up taking a taxi.
Rooms are great and the service is perfect. The only thing I wouldn't expect from a 5 star hotel is having to pay 17€ a day for wifi (of course we did without).
Breakfast is 22,5€, which is way too expensive (unless they serve oysters for breakfast). We found a very nice place close to the hotel where to have continental breakfast for half price.
Overall very nice but maybe next time I'll choose less stars but closer to the center and with more affordable services.

Wonderful hotel, very clean and well kept. The room was spotless and not a thing out of place. The service from the hotel staff was flawless and always carried out with a smile. Overall I would not think twice about returning.

This was my second time staying in this district. It is walking distance to all the major museums and the REI Convention Centre. The rooms are attractive and very well kept. The staff in all areas are extremely warm and friendly and efficient.

Room Tip: It seems as if they are all very quiet

The hotel is is a quiet area the rooms are nice and beds comfy breakfast is expensive pre book then it's 17.50 euro go on day downstairs its 22.50 euro.
The trains weren't working when we went and it was chaos on shuttle buses so we had to catch a 2 taxi there was 8 of us in total one charged 55 euros for 5 of us and the other taxi charged 35 euros for 3 of us from the airport to the hotel.
The distance from dam square by tram is 10-15 mins. The tram stop is located near by turn left on to the main road then turn right at the lights and the tram stop is on the that road. Tram 5,16, 24 i think get u there. The trams stop working at 12.30 am . Walking to the dam Square which we did i would say 30 mins.
The super market is located nearby to 5-10 mins walk max turn right onto the main road over the bridge at the lights turn right and its on that road on your left hand side on the corner. You can not see it from the main road it faces onto the side street. Definitely cheaper than the hotel we bought a bottle of water and 2 Pepsi 13 euros at the hotel.

Would definitely stay hear again

Stayed at this hotel over weekend 5th September - 7th September 2014. Rooms are an excellent size, hotel staff friendly and very helpful. Very spacious inside. The number 5 , 24 and 16 tramlines are within a short walking distance of this location and a well priced supermarket about 10 minutes away ( walking distance). The tram lines will get you across most of the city . There are hourly passes ( approx. 3 Euros) or the 24 hour pass ( 7 and a half Euro). I gather there was also a 48 hr pass too.
Also like to pass comment on the excellent service we received from eating / drinking establishments across the city including the Pizzeria Steakhouse ( Lange Niezel 19) , the Aran Irish Pub near Hard Rock Café and especially to the staff at Havelaar Café ( Voetboogstraat 22-24) for their hospitality and wealth of local knowledge which proved very useful.
On the downside , we received awful treatment at the Excalibur bar - their prices are good but customer service was severely lacking .
