Basically I loved this hotel, I am into beautiful interior design work, and this hotel had it. Their black/white theme was well executed and somehow the hotel felt cozy, quaint and comfy. I hate to say this about a hotel I liked so much (did I mention it is only one block from a wonderful outdoor market that is well worth visiting?) but I really feel they need to tell hotel guests if their room is in the basement or not. I wish I wasn't affected by small spaces without much light, but I am. I tried to change my room but they just didn't have anything else to give me.
Would I stay there again? Most likely.
As luck would have it, the weather was horrific when we were there, worse than my native Seattle. But the Dutch people are so delightful, eccentric and wonderful that I most surely will return - I will just know to ask if my room is "down under".
