“Perfect base from which to explore Amsterdam”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013 via mobile

Hotel Notting Hill is perfect in every way. We opted for room only as felt the breakfast was expensive. There are lots of coffee shops nearby. We had lunch in Sapori Pugliesi (authentic Italian) which was delicious and would recommend L'Express for dinner (a 10 minute walk away). We had coffee at the hotel and dinner on one evening. Couldn't fault anything. In general we found Amsterdam expensive but the hotel was a luxurious particularly after a long day's sightseeing. Highly recommended.

Trust all the reviews below - Notting hill is a great place really. It is right next to two tram stations that take you to all of amsterdam. The hotel staff are very helpful and the rooms are quite big - even for Europe standards.
Breakfast option was good - and the hotel is just a minute away from the famous Albert Cyup market.
Overall value for money!

We had 2 great nights. Great staff, great view, great location. Easy to get to and is a walking distance from nice locations. Has a tram stop right next to it.
The breakfast was real good, and the general atmosphere there was real calm.
Just LOVED it!

Room Tip: 3rd floor towards the canal has great views. Ask for it.

Just came back from a five-day visit to Amsterdam with my two teenage children. We liked the hotel. We had a basement room. Small windows up high, no view, but that was ok. We were out all day anyway. The beds were amazing, so comfortable. Great bathroom, good water pressure in the shower, the tub was bliss. We rented bikes for two days from the hotel so getting around was a breeze and lots of fun. Tram to Central Station is a block away. Walking distance from Albert Cuyps market, Rijkmuseum, Van Gogh museum. Great restaurant and shopping street nearby. It wasn't cheap, but for Amsterdam, I think it was a good value. I think the only way to get inexpensive lodgings in Amsterdam is to rent an apartment, though even that can be pricey. We didn't eat there. Found a breakfast place nearby and went to a different restaurant every night. We would definitely stay there again. The staff was lovely, very nice and helpful. Recommended; we would stay there again if we go back.

Room Tip: It's hard to find hotel rooms in Amsterdam for more than two people. We were three. At the Notti...

I liked this place. Nothing to knock your socks off but very nice. Our room had a great view to a canal and a people watching side street, the bed and pillows were comfy, and the staff was well informed, helpful, and very friendly. There's a tram station out front and the parking is a short distance away. Breakfast is expensive, but quality is good.
Recommend.

Nice boutique hotel with lots of charm, the only complaints that I have is that we arrived approximately 10.00am after finishing a river cruise. We were told that our room was not ready, which we thoroughly understood we were told it would be ready around 2.00pm which was fine with us as we wanted to explore, we left our bags went out for a few hours got back at around 2 only to sit in the lobby until 4.20pm for our room to be ready. Also our room was on the 4 floor without any windows, I believe we should have been asked if this was ok. We didn't say anything at the time as it might have been another couple of hours for another room to be ready.

We chose this hotel down to location and reviews and were glad we did! Tram stop right outside so getting around the city is very easy - if you can read an underground map you will be fine - this is even a little easier.
Within walking distance of the Heineken experience and the boat tour stops, the large market which sells clothes/food etc is three mins walk away.
Our first room was on the lower ground floor and next to the service entrance - after a couple of nights we asked to be moved as we were disturbed several times by banging doors and bottles rattling, the room was large and comfortable but the noise outside was spoiling our stay - we were moved straight away without any fuss and the lovely English receptionist was so so helpful our next room was on the first floor facing the road but was fine and just as nice, comfy and clean. The bar is great for cocktails ( even though they are a little pricey) and the hotel lobby has the internet for skyping home if you need to. We did not get to eat at the hotel but the restaurant always looked busy. Overall our stay here was lovely and we would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Room Tip: Higher floors have less noise issues
