“Great location, great place, great view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2014

The B&B is lovely. It's in a great location in the Jordaan area, just of Princengracht canal (few mins walk to Anne Frank Museum) and situated overlooking a small canal. There are really large windows in the room so the light is great. The room is a bit like a studio apartment. With a double bed, chest of drawers, bedside tables, a table and chairs and a comfy armchair overlooking the canal. The kitchen is small but has everything you need: oven, kettle, toaster etc. Bathroom has a shower and all the toiletries you will need. You don't need to bring anything, (maybe breakfast tea, as only herbal tea was there) coffee, condiments, bottle opener etc. Jackie was very welcoming and let us leave our luggage on the day of checkout as our flight was late evening. If you want room service and a posh boutique experience, this isn't the place for you, but if you want a lovely cosy b&b with nice decor, the opportunity to eat in and be situated right in the heart of a great area, I would recommend it. There are lots of good places to eat out. We ate in Vlaming and Moeders and the walk was no more than 5-10 mins. Also visited De Pijp and would go back to explore this area more for places to eat and drink. Would come back to stay next time.

Room Tip: The breakfast is lovely and large enough to last for 2 days or can do for a lunch as well as a break...

My daughter and i stayed at Jackie O (yes she's really a Jackie O!) for ten days end of April. We were there to see the tulips but the real shining star of our fabulous girl's trip was this charming and stylish canal-side apartment. Beautiful view of the canal with a lovely window seat -- the temptation was to sit there all day long and watch the world float by! Walking distance to EVERYTHING and a genuine pleasure to return to the lovely peace and quiet of our fetching street at the end of a busy day. Made more special by Jackie herself -- warm, personable and extremely generous with helpful tidbits and details on restaurants, shops, sights and those little finds that only the locals know about. We're looking forward to visiting this heavenly spot again someday soon!

Stayed there last night and the night before. Jackie is lovely caring and attentive and the room ideal for a romantic break. A great base in the centre of the city on a canal which is both beautiful and quiet but only 5 minutes from everything.

Everything and mean everything you could want in a small B&B: location, charm, view, comfort,
cleanliness, little extras, delightful owner who is actually there when needed and I would like to add charm one more time. Make sure you order the breakfast at least once.

Room Tip: Only one room, one perfect room

No doubt, this is the place I am going to visit when I am back in Amsterdam. Best room, big and comfortable, best location: the jordaan is a wonderful area quiet to stay and nearby the core of the entertainment and the museums. Bike rental a few metres far away(highly advised too! ). So, best place! Jackie and ziggy are the best hosts ever!

I searched the internet for a long time to find the perfect place to stay in Amsterdam. And I think I succeeded with Jackie O's. This is a beautiful studio apartment in the Jordaan neighborhood that overlooks the Bloemgracht canal. It is in a quiet location, but a short walk will take you to a neighborhood filled with small restaurants and access to the trams. The Anne Frank House is literally a 5 minute walk away (although the line was always very long, and we never had a chance to visit).

This little gem gives you the advantage of a quiet neighborhood, but also quick access to the busier side of Amsterdam. We walked from Dam Square back to the hotel, but you could easily take the tram. The Hop on-Hop off bus stop is also a short walk away (we found this tour very helpful in getting our bearings in the city).

I can highly recommend Jackie O's.

Room Tip: There is only one room - but it's fabulous.

After much research trying to find a perfect place to stay while in Amsterdam, I came across Jackie O B&B! Truly perfection! The location was wonderful! The view delightful! Located in the quite but elegant and trendy Jordaan neighborhood, along the Bloemgracht canal. A short walk to Anne Frank House, (which you should pre-purchase your tickets for to bypass the very long lines), restaurants, shops, a few bus lines, and a great supermarket! I loved hearing the melodic church bells everyday, and waking up in a pleasant and bright studio flat. There is a small kitchen area, with fridge to keep a breakfast and snacks handy to eat before you begin your day in Amsterdam. I was there with my 17 year old son, so while not acceptable accommodations for some it was fine for us. The bed can be either a king or two smaller beds which worked out great for us! Jackie and her dog Ziggy made us feel at home! She answered ALL our questions, and arranged for a very very early taxi pick up-even woke up to see us off! WiFi is free, as is tea, coffee, wine, and delicious danish waffle cookies and chocolate!
I would definitely recommend these accommodations, and will return if I return to Amsterdam some day!
