I spent 5 very pleasant nights at Frederik Park House, using it as a base to explore Holland. This is more of a bed and breakfast than a full service hotel. It's located in a large house in a quiet neighborhood that faces onto a park. The owners live on the ground and first floors and rent the rooms on the upper floors. Breakfast is served in your room each morning and was ample enough to keep me going the whole day. The location was perfect: outside the hustle, bustle, and filth of the city center, but close enough to be within easy walking distance of all the major attractions. But if you are too tired to walk, the number 4 tram stops right outside the hotel, where there is also a taxi stand. My room was clean and quiet and the owners were very nice and helped suggest places to visit during my stay. There are several excellent restaurants and pubs around the corner along Utrechtsestraat. Rembrandtplein is also within a 10-minute walk. Good, affordable accommodations are not easy to find in Amsterdam, and I would definitely stay here again. We have stayed in several types of Amsterdam accomodation in the past & have to say that the Frederik Park House has been by far the best.
As described in information, Frederik Park House is ideally located & in a quite area, but within easy access to very nice restaurants, cafes/bars, shops & attractions.The rooms/suites are tastefuIly decorated & furnished to a high standard.
The hosts are very welcoming & helpful, whilst also being very professional in the way that they run their business.
We would highly recommend the Frederik Park House & hope that we will enjoy it's comfort & hospitality again some time in the near future.

We spent 4 nights at Frederik Park House and we wish our stay had been longer. This 4 room bed and breakfast is just lovely. The decor is carefully put together with obvious attention paid to all the little details to make it chic as well as comfortable. The establishment is run by Martin and Franz who play the perfect hosts, starting with hoisting your luggage up the steep stairs (typical of the row houses of Amsterdam) to giving you lots of tips and guidance to the ins and outs of amsterdam.

Breakfast is served in the room - eggs, warms rolls, juice, yoghurt, cheese, ham, coffee... very homely. The place is kept spotlessly clean and felt like a luxury hotel, with a personal touch. The large brass bed was really comfortable, there were fresh flowers in the room and free internet. A half flight down there was a lovely deck overgrown with the most gorgeous flowers. Lots of interesting magazines were at our disposal, notably Wallpaper.

At the ground level, there was a self service bar with an espresso coffee machine, tea, wine and other beverages.

The location was great too. In the posh south canal district, we were just a few minutes walk from a street full of restaurants and bars, a tram stop and actually most of the museums and sites were within easy walking distance.

We loved our stay at Frederik Park House, mainly because it felt like we were coming back to a home after a hard day of tourism!

What a wondeful little gem near most everything. It is perfect for traveling with children - spacious, friendly, near a park, great breakfast, walking distance to most everything. The owners are very friendly and helpful in giving advise about where to go and what to eat. It is small so it has a very cosy feeling. The location is ideal for quiet sleeping but near everything. This place was recommended to me by a friend and I would highly recommend it as well.
