“wonderful hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

We stayed here from 13.04 to 19.04. This was our second visit to the hotel, the first one was in November 2011. Usually we don't go back to places where we've been before, but not in this case! Everything was excellent, or even better: wonderful breakfasts, very nice quiet location, very comfortable and beautiful room! And Martin - he's great! He always gives very good recommendations! Martin, you're the best! If we ever visit Amsterdam again, we will stay only in this hotel!

This is starting to look like a serial, being the third time we recommend Frederik Park House (FPH) on TripAdvisor. I will not go into details again (you can read my two previous reports), we just want to give FPH the points they deserve on TripAdvisor, and being a very small business (4 rooms), they need all the good words they can have. And they deserve them. Martin and Frans are running the very best little hotel (4 rooms), and they do it very professionally and with great warmth.
The weather was not at all good, cold and windy, and in fact the coldest March in 55 years, but Amsterdam is a wonderful city with lots of things to do and see. Martin and Frans will give you their special suggestions, and this time we personally appreciated to be led to The Grachtenhuis Museum, presenting the canals and the development of the city plan.
We also like small details as fresh flowers in the room, our own coffee-machine, the candles in the entrance in the evening, the comfortable armchairs for reading and relaxing (not a small detail by the way).
In Norway every other household owns a holiday/weekend cottage or cabin. We have found our own cabin in Amsterdam at Frederik Plein!

Room Tip: With only four rooms, you have to go four times to try them all. We have been staying in three of th...

My wife and I stayed 3 nights at the fantastic Frederik's Park House.

The location is absolutely superb just inside the Central East Ring and is so easy to get to from the Airport if using public transport - train to Central Amsterdam and then the number 4 tram.

We stayed in room 301 on the 3rd floor and it was a fantastic suite with a very comfortable bed, a nice bath room and a living room with TV, Nesspresso Coffee machine, kettle and IPod Dock.

Continental Breakfast is served every morning in your room by the wonderful Martin who ensures he gives you a good overview of the City before departing each morning - very useful especially tips on great restaurants.

The surrounding area is vibrant, relaxed and filled with great restaurants, bars and shops which caters for the wealthy local residents. We ate at Take Thai, Golden Temple and Moustache Bar all of which were fantastic!

All the sites are in easy walking distance so no need to take any public transport at all just enjoy the stroll through the maze of canals.

My wife who are in our early 30s have travel extensively around the world and have pedantically high standards so when we tell you this place is great and top notch believe it to be true and don't hesitate in booking it!!

On the approach to Amsterdam the pilot lets us know that our landing is delayed while ground crews clear the recent snow from the runway. This gets me wondering if I have warm enough clothes for this stay. Once off the plane the warmer gear gets thrown on and it's off to meet my wife, who had arrived earlier and is staying at a hotel across the road from the train station in town. After breakfast at a quaint place around the corner we grab a taxi to Frederik Park House and are warmly greeted by Martin (the owner) who shows us to our room. We are on the top floor of a beautiful four storey house, the only drawback to this is the fact there is no lift. Not a huge inconvenience as its a great house with a lot of character and a warm feel to it. The room is spacious and the bed very comfortable and with breakfast supplied every morning and a coffee machine in the room (although not my brand of coffee) it makes for a great place to stay. The location is very convenient as others have described, and Martin is a fount of knowledge on what's about. Amsterdam is a great place to explore, with a museum for anything and everything you could think of. We plan to visit again during warmer weather to explore the country side and get a glimpse of the windmills the country is famous for and look forward to staying at Frederik Park House once again...

We enjoyed three beautiful nights in Frederik Park House. Everything was first class from the lovely spacious room to the exceptional breakfast. Not forgetting our brilliant host Martin who had great suggestions of where to go, what to eat etc.
This hotel really is a gem and would recommend it to all- the location is perfect too- close enough to the hustle and bustle should you want it.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

We stayed 4 nights in Frederik Park House at the end of August 2012. We had a lovely room on the top floor where my 2 daughters and myself could stay very comfortably. The room was very clean and spacious, overlooking the park. The B&B owner was very welcoming and gave us excellent recommendations. Breakfast was brought to our room every morning and was composed of delicious varieties of breads, some cheese and ham, eggs, yogurt, orange juice and of course tea or coffee. We also had tea and coffee in our room. The location was superb: a quiet street in a trendy area a few minute walk from everything. I would recommend this place to anyone (except if you have trouble going up stairs - lots of stairs everywhere in Amsterdam). We had a perfect stay!
