“Nice hotel, great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2014 via mobile

Great location on Keizersgracht, one of the best streets in the city and walking distance to central station. Decor is certainly different - very dark with alot of black/ orange/ purple, which gives it a real character (see the photos) but is starting to look a little faded. Staff are very friendly, helpful and great for advice and making reservations.

We had a room on 3rd floor overlooking the garden which was really quiet and cleaned well every day. They added an extra bed for us but we still had plenty of space to move about.

There was free internet throughout the hotel and our room had a coffee maker and safe.

Just back from 2 nights in Amsterdam, Hotel Sebastian is in an excellent location, about 10 minutes walk from the station, we stayed in a triple room 103 really pleased clean and a really good size with 3 real beds! not a sofa bed which you quite often get. Bathroom again excellent. We found the staff helpful polite - no faults. We didn't have breakfast we used the small cafés about 2-3 minutes walk away

Room Tip: Room 193 for triple room that's also quiet

This hotel proved to be the perfect introduction to Amsterdam. Room was comfortable and modern. We chose a canal view room and the view was wonderful of the vintage buildings and streets. The staff was helpful for dining suggestions and the bar staff was helpful with thoughts on what to see. Only a few blocks from Anne Frank house and the markets, 9 Streets area of shops and more. When we go back, we will gladly stay here again.

Room Tip: Paying extra for the canal view room was well worth it.

This is a small hotel in an excellent location alongside one of the canals and a few minutes walk from the main train station and all the sights. I travelled with a friend and we each stayed in a double room which, while small, were clean and well equipped with everything we needed. I have to say that the bed was really comfortable and I had one of the best night's sleep I'd had in a long time! Staff were very helpful and gave us some excellent restaurant recommendations for dinner. Breakfast was varied and we were allowed to store our bags for a few hours after check out to allow us to explore before moving on. A good value clean hotel in a great location that I would have no hesitation in recommending, or indeed using again.

The hotel is in a perfect location, particularly for the Jordaan and easily accessible from Amsterdam Centraal. All staff were extremely friendly and accommodating at all times. We stayed in room 228 which was tiny and dirty. Furniture was damaged, the bed tiny and the ceiling was more akin to an office! We did wonder if the hotel had been converted from an office as the decor throughout was very similar. It must have been the noisiest hotel room I have ever stayed in; you could hear every little thing. I would recommend asking for a room with a view of the canal. The breakfast was good value but there are lots of great eateries surrounding the hotel. Overall the hotel has great potential but a boutique hotel shouldn't be so shabby!

We have just spent a long weekend in Amsterdam and really enjoyed our stay in Hotel Sebastian's. We stayed in a "small" double and found that it easily accommodated all of our baggage with space to move around!

The staff in Hotel Sebastian's were everything you would look for in hotel staff, pleasant, helpful, inquisitive and went out of there way to help us in every way they could, even supplying a vase for the flowers I surprised my wife with.

The location is Ideal for for walking round the Jordaan or further afield shopping and is only a five minute walk from centraal.

Overall we had an amazing stay here and we hope other people will enjoy it as much as we did!!

We had no issues with our stay here. Our room was clean and our check in and out was easy. Found the location to be ideal and staff was very friendly. Would stay here again. At first we got a little lost trying to find our room but front desk helped us out.

Room Tip: If you want a view you have to ask for a canal view room I believe. We were ok without a view
