Felt like home!
Luxurious and quiet, even if located close to the center. Walking distance to everywhere.
Coffee facilities with lovely mini cakes every morning. Very comfortable and spacious for a couple. I still remember the light and warm feeling of the bed!
Great choice!!!

This isn't a 'normal' hotel, you get a numeric pincode emailed to you a week before your stay, plug it into the keypad at the door to get in. You have to pull your bags up three flights of stairs, which took my husband about 1 minute and you only have to do it once. You use the same code to get into your room. The room was so modern and gorgeous with french doors that we had open all the time. Bathroom, super modern. Great location. Room was made up daily. We LOVED!

Stayed for two nights over the weekend for wedding anniversary celebration.
Forget the negative reviews, this place does exactly what it says on the tin.
It's not a hotel and doesn't claim to be one so if you want a reception, concierge, restaurant, telephone etc. then stay elsewhere.
Instructions to find the place were e-mailed the week before with the access pin code, address, bus/train/tram details etc. Don't quite understand some of the reviews suggesting the address is wrong, follow the e-mailed instruction from the owner and you can't go wrong!
Yes, the stairs are steep so not recommended if you have loads of luggage or would struggle with stairs but otherwise not really an issue.
Room is huge compared to Amsterdam standards with excellent bathroom. Free WiFi, coffee/tea facilities, massive tv, alarm clock, slippers etc. Room serviced when we were out enjoying the sights.
Jordaan area is the best in Amsterdam and only a short walk from Dam square, Leidesplein etc.
If you just want a nice place to stay without any 'hotel facilities' then book this place.

Jordaan location excellen

The address is wrong on all sites. The address is 3 not 1. There is no sign to let you know the property is anything more than a residence. The stairs are incredibly steep and narrow and if it hadn't been for the obliging young man who came to help us we would not have been able to carry our bags to our room. There is no reception or anyone on the premises to help at any time. Our room was very spacious but not well appointed. There are no drawers at all and the only shelf space holds the TV and coffee making facility. (The 2 sachets of coffee were only replenished once during our stay of 5 days). There was a small amount of shelf we could use if you pushed the TV out of the way. The bathroom was an adequate size but extremely badly lit. The floor was lethally slippery when wet and water came out from under the shower door making the entire floor dangerous. The hand basin plug did not work at all so washing anything was impossible. Even had it worked the basin is impossibly shallow. As we need access to wi-fi for business when we travel we made sure there was wi-fi available here. The first day we arrived the wi-fi was not working. This was about 3.00pm. I rang the number I had been given for assistance and was told that it had to be something I was doing wrong as they have never had trouble with their wi-fi previously. I advised them it appeared it was their modem and was told that it could not be. At about 11.00pm that night someone arrived and said that they had reset their modem and that never before had this occurred. It happened another 3 times during our stay until in the end I had to give up. The position of AMS Suites is OK. About a 20 minute walk to the nearest tram and 10 minutes to restaurants and cafes in a quiet area. Unless you are very young, and have no luggage and don't mind impossibly steep stairs and don't need reliable wi-fi don't stay here.

No front desk so you use a PIN to get in both the main door and your room which was perfectly fine with us. No problems using it at all and the PIN was sent to us in plenty of time before our trip. We were even able to come in earlier than our check in time to drop our heavy luggage off and then come back once housekeeping was done preparing our room. Walking from Amsterdam Central train station to the hotel with heavy backpacks and bags was no problem either although the metro can take you as well. Very comfortable bed, modern design, great French doors that open completely, oand complementary toiletries, tea, bottled water, coffee, and chocolate. FREE WIFI as well! There are two steep stairwells to get to our floor which could be problematic for some but we had no issues. Also I could hear quite a bit in the alley next to us but neither one of us are light sleepers so we fell right asleep.

it was hard to find it as there is no sign and no reception. We arrived early morning so we had to wait till 12pm coz that's when our code was activated. You have to go up the tiny stairs with you luggage :s Room was very nice and spacious, bathroom was nice and clean, however we think there was bed bugs :s Location is not bad, quit area.
