“the place where locals go”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013

if you wonna escape noisy overcrowded Kalverstraat & see where 'real dutchies' shop and hang out for coffee in between small stores, local boutiques - this is the place to be. Expect some extravagant dutch design though ;)

“dont fall for it”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013

Ok...this is an area where ppl (tourist) g to to shop. Because its so nice and exclusive... Do not be fooled tho. Most stuuf sold there is horribly overpriced. They buy umbrellas at the Poundshop and sell them for 20 euro's. And ppl fall for it. Half the shops sell crap and at a way too high price. There are a few genuine unique shops there with mainly clothing, leather bags or jewelerey but they also charge a lot more then decent. Shop elsewhere.

“Window Shopping heaven!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2013

This is a window shopping heaven and you can easiy spend half a day just walking around! Do take some time to visit this place, however if you are running short of time this is not a place to tick off your "been there" list.

“Frequently asked: Where are 'De Negen Straatjes?'”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

People frequently ask: "Where are 'de Negen Straatjes?".These 9 little streets are intersected by the Prinsengracht, Keizergracht, Herengracht & Singel and bordered by Raidhuisstraat in the north & Leidsegracht to the south. All 9 streets have their own names- (see link). It's a fun area for shopping or browsing - lots of cute little shops & restaurants(not overloaded with chain stores!) in interesting old style buildings. Fun little district of Amsterdam with plenty of photo opportunities!

“Vintage and modern”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

Remember when shops were tiny?
This place has so many niche shops and you are sure to find something unique.
I was in awe of the vintage clothes!
