“Great location, good value”

We stayed here in February 2013 for 4 nights on a special winter rate Hilton were offering if you booked direct (I recall this being around 40% off their usual rate.)

The location of the hotel is excellent, right next to the main train station - in fact you could see it from the platform. You do however have a little walk outside to get to the hotel. It's in a good location for the science museum and also the main library, which is nicely designed and offers good views. (This also has an affordable Italian canteen style restaurant.)

The room was very clean and modern in design. The beds were very comfy. I particularly liked the floor to ceiling window, we could see the station, river/canal from our room and the Schreien Tower. I don't know if it was the package we had booked but our minibar was complementary during our stay which was a nice touch, it was refilled everyday.

The hotel is really big and the design might not be to everyone's taste, however it suited us. We spent longer in the hotel than we had intended during our visit as in early February it was very cold in the city.

Breakfast was good. We also visited the Starbucks which is situated inside the hotel. Would highly recommend a visit to the Skybar on the top floor, expensive for drinks but with an amazing view - it also had a rooftop ice rink when we were there. We also had drinks in the lobby bar a number of times, the service here was great and other people's food looked nice.

We took a canal cruise which left from just opposite the station's main entrance, would recommend this as a way of familiarising yourself with the city/canal layout.

In summary we enjoyed our trip and would return to the hotel again, particularly if we could get the same deal.

Stayed here for a week with family in a junior suite. Great location right next to central station and easy access to anywhere in city. Very strange looking place from the outside but once you're inside it looks smart and clean. disappointed with the size of the room for a suite and also the state of some of the furnishings and paintwork which were chipped and scratched, but it was spotless and had great views over the city. We had access to the executive lounge where we had breakfast which was nothing special but adequate, they also do free drinks and nibbles in there for a 2 hour period at night which is nice but don't get in there spot on opening time as it is like feeding time at the zoo, you would think some people hadn't eaten or drank for a week. The sky lounge is a lovely place, beautifully done but the prices are ridiculous so be warned. Overall, decent hotel, average value. I'm sure there are better in Amsterdam but there will also be a lot worse.

I am sorry to read the size of our rooms were not what you expected; though, they have been designed to offer a comfortable stay with all facilities you may expect from a 4 star property, making maximum use of the limited space available on a prime city centre location.

Regading the prices at our Sky Lounge, We do understand the prices of our drinks might be higher than some other bars in the city, however we feel this is justified by the quality of the products we use in combination with the unique location on the 11th floor, overlooking the city. Our signature cocktails are prepared only by highly skilled shakers using exclusive and fresh ingredients, our wines are selected by sommeliers who look for the best wines of its kind and our coffee is accompanied by a wide range of fresh sweets with a second serving for free. We aim to create a unique experience for every guest visiting our SkyLounge.

Next to the above it is great to read you enjoyed the views from your room and the free drinnks at our Executive Lounge in the afternoon.

We do hope to welcoming you back soon to our hotel!

This hotel is located right next to the train station and is nevertheless quiet. Rooms are rather basic, suggestive of cruise ship cabins, albeit a bit larger. In room iMacs double as entertainment centers. I enjoyed the channel selection and ease of use. Breakfast was good at typical hotel breakfast prices (around 25USD). Some staff were extremely helpful, others rather indifferent. At least they were not rude. Room was clean, quiet, A/C controllable and it worked! No real problems here. No super luxury, at least in my room, either. Would recommend for convenience. Hassle free for me at least.

A triangular "courtyard", littered with cigarette butts and illegally parked bicycled funnels the weary taveller through revolving doors into a ratively small and overcrowed foyer with limited and uncomfortable seating to be eventually greeted by friendly and efficient staff. The well overpriced room could have been vastly improved by a liitle more thought in the layout/design process. The, so far disappointing, experience was compounded upon making a cup af tea/coffee. At $400 something a night I was appaled be provided with paper cups!!!!!!!!!!!! REALLY! I could of course call housekeeping and request "REAL" cups!!! The experience improved considerably upon going up to the top foor lounge, awesome views of Amsterdam! Food was on the pricey side but reasonably good. The staff were very polite and helpful. For the money I would stay elsewhere!

I am sorry to hear that your recent experience didn’t add up to your expectations. We are committed in providing our guests with the highest service. For this reason we very much appreciate our guest’s feedback, as it helps us fully understand our performance and it helps us to improve our overall service.

We value your note regarding the cigarette butts in our courtyard. We do our best to strive to work as environmental as possible and will discuss this topic internally. It is very possible some guests throw their cigarrets butts from their windows, but we will certainly pay more attention to it! And I can imagine the special design of our building surprises some guests like you with our triangular courtyard which offers a unique view of the interior yard.

I am sorry you were dissapointed with a paper cup for your coffee placed in your room. We have paper cups indeed for a regular coffee size and normal small cups for Espresso coffee in our Suites. Of course you can always call our Housekeeping if you wish to have another cup. It's always our pleasure to help you.

Next to the above I am very happy to read you liked our Sky Lounge and it's staff and could enjoy the spectacular views of the city from here.

As there is really never a valid excuse for any negative experience, we do ask for your forgiveness and hope we may still welcome you in the future.

Very close to the central train station, superb location to visit this beautiful city. Miguel welcomed us at reception and gave us the most amazing cookies Ever yum, we had arrived well before our booking in time but this was not a problem. Our room was on the ninth floor with a superb view, unfortunately we were on the rear side of hotel which is very close to trainlines, however the room complete with iMac computer, fridge and spacious bathroom made up for this. Would recommend a visit to the superb Skyy lounge on top floor for a wee nightcap and watch the sun go down, bliss .

Checking in was smooth (very friendly and attentive receptionist, bravo!), stay was allright, but we expected that executive room would be somewhat better than standard, but alas. Executive lounge was somewhat under-dimensioned considering the size of this hotel. Surprise, surprise - we asked for the Guardian, but got a Dutch newspaper instead... wonder if that is related to this hotel being US-owned.
Checking out was a different story - understaffed, long line and the most irritating bit was that hotel had charged my card in issuing banks currency at an exchange rate that would make the dodgiest main-street moneychanger proud. Took me some e-mails and a fair bit of irritation to get a full refund and proper charges in EUR as aggreed upon booking. Check your credit card bill and do not hesitate to complain if there are irregularities, it helps and hopefully improves the hotel in the long run.
Location - convenient from the train station, but otherwise somewhat away from it all, prepare to walk.

Great to hear your check in was smooth and our staff was friendly and attentive! I will pass your kind comments to them.

Our Executive rooms are indeed the same size as our Guest Room, the difference of booking an Executive room are the benefits included with it; such as the breakfast included, a guarantee view of the city, complimentary access to our new Executive Lounge as well as complimentary afternoon drinks and snacks!

On the other hand I am very sorry you had to wait long to check out. When it is sometimes a busy period in the city we do our utmost to assist every guest on time. As there is really never a valid excuse for any negative experience, we do ask for your forgiveness and hope we may still welcome you in the future.

I regret to read as well your credit card was charge with the wrong amount, please accept my apologies for this. I am glad this has been solved positively.
