“Simply wonderful”

My boyfriend and I couldn't have been happier with our choice of hotel in Amsterdam. We arrived 11am on a Friday, worried that we would have to wait for check in at 3pm but were welcomed very warmly, given our room immediately and even handed two warm (and incredible!) cookies as a welcome gift! Small touches like the apples and orange juice available at Reception, London Tea Company teabags in each room and free WiFi made our stay here one of the most pleasurable we'd had. Its central location, wonderful views and luxury accommodation meant it was perfect for our romantic weekend break. (But we wish we'd have known that we could rent bikes directly from the hotel before we checked out!)

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in mid Jan 2012 and I cannot fault them at-all.
The staff bent over backwards, couldnt do enough to help, the rooms were beautifull.
From reading other reviews on this site, we had been advised to ask for a city view room, which we did, but unfortunatley they didnt have any available, so we ended up overlooking the train tracks, which do be honest, didnt bother us at-all, we could hear the trains in the background but they certainly didnt bother us or interupt our sleep.

Whilst at the hotel, a visit to the "SkyLounge" on the 11th floor is a must, we had to drag ourselves out of there to visit the city, as everyone in our group was more than happy to stay in there all night, the staff, service, food, drinks, atmosphere, where all out of this world, & thats not to mention the view!! stunning, absolutely stunning!!!!

One thing to note, I like a bit of fresh air in the room while im sleeping and we thought the window didnt open because of the height we where at (7th Floor), but we noticed on the last day, that behind the curtains, at the side of the window, there is a small metal door / window thing that does open, it only opens about 3-4" but is more than enough to get some air through the room, pity I hadnt noticed it earlier.

Overall an excellent stay, great VFM and I definatley would return.

staff very pleasant
taking a car to this hotel is a problem as they are currently developing this area
finding it with Sat Nav is also a challenge
good modern rooms
excellent value i dont know how long they will keep the competitive rates once all of the work around the area is complete.

Stayed at this hotel for 2 days. Hotel is very clean and staff is very helpful, except for the female bartender in the evening- she was a little rude. The hotel is next to Centraal Station, which is a very easy ride from the airport. It's the other side of a canal from downtown/ old city amsterdam, so it was very quiet at night, but just a 5 minute walk into the heart of old town. Since we were only there for 2 nights, everything we wanted to see was withing walking distance (at most 20 minutes). I would definitely stay there again on a short trip.

Stayed at the Hilton Doubletree over the weekend with my wife. We had requested a City view room, on the basis of a number of reviews on TA however - the request was ignored by the front desk - and when I asked specifically, I was simply told there was no availabilty...it was quite a cold, rude welcome from the front desk lady, however, luckily, she was the only bad egg in the basket!
We were able to check in quite a few hours early, treated to signature cookies (nice touch) and shown to our room.
The room was on the noisy side - non city view, which is a big shame - the trains run all night and they really do make a fair bit of noise, apart from that, the room is great - comfy bed, great shower, all the amenites, iMac computer/tv - small screen, but great for checking out places online etc. Free wifi - throughout the hotel - clean room, small but nice bathroom. I can only imagine the view being fantastic on the other side - you really do need to be lucky!
The Sky Lounge bar is stunning - amazing views, very nice modern minimalist decor, there's an outdoor terrace - which would be great in the summer... prices are high though! expect to pay €16 for a cocktail and €7 for a coffee.
The breakfast was included in the rate and was really good - a great spread - better than most european hotels - with hot and cold breakfast items, good service and friendly staff.
All in all - it was fantastic - I think if I'd have got the city view and there was no noise, it would be 5 stars!

Went to Amsterdam with my partner for a midweek break. Stayed at Doubletree from Jan 22nd to 25th. We were given beautiful warm cookies at check in, which I thought was a lovely touch. I requested a room with a city view and was not disappointed. The room was lovely, well decorated and clean and the bed was really comfortable. The sky lounge is a great spot for a nightcap. The hotel staff could not have been more helpful and recommended some wonderful tours, attractions and restaurants. I would definitely recommend Doubletree for a couples break!

I stayed at this hotel on two separate occasions, once for business, and once for vacation. On Both stays the staff was very helpful and friendly. I was upgraded with no hesitation to a suite because of my Hilton loyalty status. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The Hotel is very open, and has lots of natural light. The views on the city side are amazing. The Sky lounge is a very trendy bar where many locals come to have a drink. Overall the service is by far the best that I've had at any Hilton Brand hotel.
