We stayed for 4 nights (October 6-10th, 2005). The hotel is in a great location. Easy walk to everything. Very close to Leidesplein where we spent afternoons sitting out people watching. Also the Boom Boom Chicago show is there and we had lots of fun and a short walk back to our hotel. The hotel staff were polite and helpful, but we didn't need much or ask for anything extra. Our room was in the back of the hotel overlooking a courtyard between other buildings. It was quiet. It was clean. The mini bar was always refilled. Our room was quite large. Much larger than any room we have ever stayed in Europe. The bathroom was also large and quite nice. We had a king size bed which was comfortable. I would highly recommend staying here. We booked through Expedia and got a good rate.

Arrived in this hotel on friday 4th November 05. We had booked two double rooms through the NH hotel website and confirmed by phone. The cost of the room was €150.00 and we decided to upgrade to a superior room for €20.00 per night. We have previously stayed in a 3 star in amsterdam and had a terraible experience so were very weary as to what would greet us! Once we opend the bedroom door what a surprise - the room was very spacious and on two levels. Everything was very clean and the bed was a kingsize with crisp white linen. The decor was modern in style and the room had tea and coffee making facilties. The second room was almost the same but on one level with two seperate toilets?? We found the hotel staff efficent and helpful. We did not eat in the hotel but had breakfast in one of the many cafe locally. The location of the hotel was excellent - within walking distance of dam square, flower market and anne franks house. We were located on the ground floor of the hotel but found it quiet and restfull. The shuttle bus "connections" is available to and from the airport at a cost of €11.00 per person - however as there was four of us we took a taxi which cost us €35.00 from the hotel to the airport aprox 20mins. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and would return to stay there again.

Stayed at The NH City Centre from Oct 8th - 15th, in a Superior King Size room. The room was very clean and of nice size. We had a canal side room however no view of the canal as the 5th floor rooms have an overhang below which blocks the view. Room pictures were exactly as our room looked.

No noise issues as we weren't on the street... but if your worried about noise why would you book a hotel in the center of a city?

Booked the stay thru NH site directly, pricing was the same as thru expedia and other sites. We confirmed our reservation with both the central booking and by email directly with the hotel and had no problems.

Hotel location is ideal. Easy walk from central station, very close to Dam Square and all centrum sites, cafes and coffee shops steps from hotel.

We stayed at Krasnapolsky 2 years ago and would have again but rates had gone way up. Our room at City Centre was very similar , just a tad bit smaller but very nice and still convenient.

Excellent position right in the centre of Amsterdam. However two negative points about the hotel were:

1. Noise. Our bedroom overlooked the front of the hotel on the third floor. My wife and I were awakened several times every night by the road noises from outside.
2. Very small bedroom. Our so called double bedroom was in reality a small single room. with insufficient room to even allow for a second bedside table!

Hotel facilities were oterwise good but the night noise and cramped bedroom did spoil our stay.
