“Photographer's Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

A beautiful street to stroll along and a beautiful canal to boat down. Lots of little shops and cafes to stroll by and very safe. We've strolled down the Prinsengracht at 11:30pm after a concert at the Concertgebouw. Remember to look up at all of the beautiful canal houses. Those houses with wooden shutters were former warehouses - with living quarters on the ground floor and warehouse space on the upper floors. Be sure to stay on what little sidewalk there is or you may be side swiped by a bicyclist - they come from all directions. Also watch your step for "presents" left by family pets. Many unique bicycles parked along the canal and on the bridges and a few antique cars. You'll also see some interesting house boats.

“Quiet and Charming Place to Shop and Stroll”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2014

It is a very safe and quiet neighborhood. Many chic design shops, restaurants and cafes. It is a bit like Venice but a cleaner and more modern version. Great place to stroll along and to shop. The Christmas lighting makes it even more charming!

For me the more charming canal in Amsterdam, beautiful houses, nice shops. I love the jordaan zone in this canal.
