“Necessary stop while in Amsterdam”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2014

The Anne Frank House was definitely a somber start to my morning in Amsterdam however, it was a very educational and eye-opening experience. Although I had previously learned a lot about Anne Frank and the events of the time period, I still learned more and it was a wonderful experience to actually be there. The house itself has been set up as a walk through museum with stations set up to read along the route. When I went, it was very busy and we all shuffled along in a long line throughout the house but it was still a very worthwhile experience. I would recommend this as a necessary stop while in Amsterdam.

“Definitely a must visit!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2014

We went on a week day and not being as busy as weekends we walked straight in. Having seen the original film and heard about Anne as a child it's always been on my bucket list of places to visit. I was both overwhelmed and saddened at seeing the confined areas where the Frank family and others hid and had to live in behind the bookcase and the diaries of a child's view, dreams, hopes and thoughts. It's a very harrowing story of this beautiful child and her family and friends, The starkness that Anne's father wanted the rooms kept in give such an immense impression of the void made by the loss of so many. Not suitable for the very disabled or anyone carrying children due to narrow steep stairs.

“well worth the money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2014

Great experience very emotional, well worth the money. Good location easy to get to. Avoid busy times though as I can imagine it would get rather cramped it wasn't particularly busy when we went and I felt a little claustrophobic.

“Big Disappointment”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2014

Very disappointed with this museum, we purchased tickets before we went so didn´t suffer the very large queue. I expected the rooms to be similar to how they were when the Franks hid there but just empty rooms with photos and videos, much better was the resistance museum cheaper and much more interesting of stories of the brave resistance put up by the people of Amsterdam.
