Definitely go to this museum if you are visiting Amsterdam. So informative and a real eye opener about they way this family strived for survival.

“A must see attraction but book in advance”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012 via mobile

If you're going to be a tourist in Amsterdam you must make the trip to visit the Anne Frank House but stop off first at an Internet cafe or in your hotel to pre-book and print out your tickets - otherwise don't be surprised if you have to spend quite some time in the queue outside rather than slipping straight in through a dedicated entrance.

The House definitely isn't suited to anyone with limited mobility as there are lots of staircases to climb, some incredibly steep but for those of you that can get around, it'll add to your sense of being there, in *that* house, taking in just some of what Anne, her family and others in the group may have experienced during their time in hiding.

With plenty of languages catered for in the guidebooks and as translations on the various videos, everyone is able to discover the tale that Anne, and her father Otto, wanted the world to hear.

“Quiet reflection”

Very well organised but long queues unless you book tickets on line. Would have liked to have the place to myself to get a real sense of the past.

“Moving museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

Well worth a visit to a historic location and a moving tribute to a typical young girl of her day who had an amazing story.
We went early in the morning to avoid the queues, which was a good idea as when we came out the line was along the street and around the corner.

“A moving, must-see Amsterdam attraction”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

Every visitor to Amsterdam should experience this place. And what a moving experience it is. I've never before been to a place that evoked such raw emotions. Grown people were crying. I visited the Gestapo headquarters museum in Cologne, Germany the previous day which only intensified the experience. The house and bare rooms were surprisingly small for eight people to have been confined in for two years. Anne's actual diary is on display. The museum demonstrates that all of the suffering she experienced was not in vain; her legacy remains a powerful teaching tool for all of humanity. It is highly advised to purcase tickets online ahead of time to avoid the long lines.
