“Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

We read about it being one if not the most important flea market of AMS but after we saw it I must admit I've seen better and bigger stuff. maybe it's unfair to compare it to other flea markets but this is quite small and not impressive.
It's a market like others and the hype around it (lonely planet guide) is not justified.
Great flea market are others.
If you have time go see it but do not expect something amazing.

“flea market? more like a backyard junk sale...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

first entered the waterlooplein after a 20 minutes walk from the amsterdam centraal station, it was an alley full of bookstands, however as you go deeper you will see people laying down stuffs for sale on a picnic like cloth or inside a suitcase, with used shoes, clothes, second hand musical instruments etc. good place to go if you have 1 hour spare in Amsterdam, otherwise, don't expect much.

“Lovely friendly enviroment”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2013

Absoultley Briiliant. I would recommend you visit the market, with such a variety of stalls all with intrest.
The atmosphere around the flea market is wonderful everybody is smiling. Bargins definatley to be had.
Good surrounding cafes to stop and have a coffee or sit back on the benches and watch the cannal boats and take in the atmosphere.

“Famous flea market”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

After lunch we walked to Waterlooplein to explore the famous flea market. This bustling market sells everything from Che Guevara posters to bicycle parts, and African drums to military uniforms. The busy square is named after the battle of Waterloo, and stands near to the impressive Amstel River. None of us were tempted to buy anything, unless a cone of chips counts!

“Cute and Fun flea market!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

Great to enjoy in combination with the Jewish Museum and Synagogue. The flea market is quite typical of Europe but truly fun. Remember: someone else's junk may be your gold! New stuff too to sort through.
