We stayed at the Pulitzer in Amsterdam for 3 nights from 9/20-23. It was one of the best hotels we've stayed in. Our room was newly renovated and very quiet. The down bedding was so comfortable that it was difficult to get out of bed in the morning. The courtyards are charming, there is beautiful artwork in the common areas, and free coffee in the morning outside the dining room. Internet is free in the business center only. The hotel staff were very accommodating. We did book this through Starwood and used our points for 2 free nights and one night at a reduced rate. The hotel had no problem getting our reservation correct, unlike some other reviews I read on this site. The location is great, 5 minutes from the Anne Frank House, on a beautiful canal, and next to the 9 Streets shopping area. If you are interested in going to the Anne Frank house, get your tickets on the internet before you go and you won't have to wait in line there. The hotel can sell you tickets to the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum. We enjoyed a half-day tour to see the windmills in Zaanse Schans and the fishing villages of Volendam & Markham. We used Lindbergh tours and highly recommend them, even though the Pulitzer deals with a different tour company.

Slightly bemused by the mixed reviews - luckily I didn't check tripadviser before booking. My second visit, and both times I was pleased with the service and the room.

I agree with comments about value - some of the rooms can be small for the money, and i did move rooms because of this, but it is a very old building, so the character compensates. The beds are usual starwood quality ie. excellent.

Location is ideal - in one of the nicest parts of Amsterdam, and they have their own canal boat for tours.

Not a sensation, but I still like it, and I will return.

This hotel is nice. Well located, 1 block from the Ann Frank house, 10 minute walk from Dam Square. My room was cozy, on the small size, but with a fantastic bed and linens, nice bathroom, etc. Front desk at check in and during our stay was unfriendly and tight, The do their work ,but no smiles, nothing to be good or bad. Just there doing their job.
Concierge was the same way, with a preset speech and not giving much information. I asked about concerts and a venue I wanted to visit and they had no idea on where it was, or where to find information.
Again, it is a nice hotel with nice room. The people we had contact with where just there doing their job and were not interested in relating to us.

A very clean friendly hotel within about 10 minutes walk of the main square in Amsterdam, tram stops available at the end of the street. On arrival the reception staff were very helpful and were able to provide good local information and maps. Room was light and airy and the bed was probably the most comfortable I've ever slept in. Breakfast was buffet style and the breakfast cost was my only reason why I did not rate this hotel higher. I would recommend this hotel for any visitor who wants to see central Amsterdam and stay in style, I will be staying again however will probably eat at the nearby cafe's and restaurants.

we booked this hotel for one night of our six night break for a wee bit of luxury. i was looking forward to it for ages but when it came to it, it wasn't any better than the hotel we had just left.

The room was small and the bathroom was tiny! The paint work was shabby and part of the bathroom pannelling was falling off which isn't what i expected for luxury collection hotel. There were no tea/coffee making facilities either.

Good points were the location- right in the center on one of the canal. The bed was amazing too, it almost cancelled out the bad points. Nice bar, the cocktail list was good and the food was more reasonable than i was expecting.

  • Liked — The bed!
