Arrived too early for check-in ( 9a.m) but wanted to leave our bag with the hotel so that we could go exploring. The very helpful front desk lady said that was no problem and our room would be ready in an hour !
Our room overlooked an internal garden, not the canal, but as we were only there for one night it was not an issue. Bathroom was quite small, but very good shower, plenty of toiletries and towels, and two bathrobes.
Highlight of the room was the bed. It was like being swallowed by a huge marshmallow! Very, very comfy with good linens. When we arrived back around 10.30p.m the bed has been turned down, the radio was playing quietly, slippers placed by the side of the bed and chocolates had been left. It's always nice when someone else does that for you!
The hotel runs a boat tour with its own private boat that leaves from in front of the hotel. The boat is almost 100 years old and has been superbly restored with woods, brass and stained glass. The tour leaves at 5p.m and we arrived back around 6.25p.m. It was worth staying at the Pulitzer for this reason alone. As the boat is smaller than the larger tour boats, you can go different places and if you see something of interest, the captain is happy to stop and descibe things to you.Excellent tour.
After check-out the next morning, the hotel was happy to have our bags until we left for the airport, and when we arrived to collect them, the porter remembered our name.
Couldn't fault any of the staff we met, all very friendly and helpful.Room was clean, bar service excellent, hotel in great location ( far enough from the madness of Dam Square, near enough to walk). We had a great , if short, stay.
