“Astonishing renovation and excellent experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2014

The wait was worth it..the renovation has provided an outstanding customer experience and a great museum experience. The fee is 15Euros ( under 12 years olds get discount and there are family tickets too) and its totally worth it

We went on Friday at 9.30 ( queues are biggest after 11.30) and the process of getting tickets was easy with very friendly staff. The tickets allow you to come in and out of the museum for the day so you can visit the galleries and then have a coffee. There are some clear high lights such as the Court of Honour with its echoing walls and the great pictures of rembrandt, Halls and Vermeer but don't forget all those sides aisles with stunning intimate pictures.

You really need enough time to enjoy this so don't rush, walk around, have coffee and reflect choose another gallery. There are excellent periods to looks from the Dutch Impressionists and Hague School to the mannerists. There are also some very fine clothes to see.

What is also an excellent feature is the commentary on the walls provided Alan de Bouton that acts as a timely reminder that arts is about life and its not art for arts sake.

The cafes here are excellent and good value, the building is full of light and what really makes this work is the friendly staff. Go enjoy and be dazzled - even if you hate museums you will like this

“See the Rembrandts and Vermeers.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2014

See the iconic paintings of Rembrandt and Vermeer. Take in the rest if you have time. There is a bus from AMS/Schiphol that takes you directly to the museum for 5 Euros (one way). The 15 Euro price is reasonable.
