“Going Green”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2011

Cool concept hotel. We had top floor room on street with terrace. Elevator did not go to the top floor so we had a one floor walkup. Room would be better if it was a little bigger and terrace a little smaller. Service was friendly but not great and some people did not seem to know too much about the hotel or the area. For example, the front desk should know where the recycling bins are in a green hotel and if there is a laundry in the area. The location was good if you did not mind taking the trolley outside of the main city center. Restaurants in the area within walking distance were a little sparse. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast good but expensive. Internet good and lobby was comfortable. Overall we liked the hotel but the staff did not really have their act together.
An issue arose after our departure when our credit card was charged over $300 without any notice. Upon calling we were informed the charge was to pay for a broken chair in our room (which we knew nothing about). After a few email exchanges the hotel manager graciously agreed to reverse this charge and was going to investigate what happened.

This hotel is lovely: modern, clean and funky! We spent 3 nights here and loved the quirkiness of the hotel, as well as the small (but perfectly formed) room. The bathroom was very chic with a great shower. The bathroom was a really good size! The only moan is that there was a whirring noise in the room constantly - caused by the fan in the bathroom. This was most annoying when trying to sleep at night!!! The number 1 tram stops immediately outside... And I also vouch for the amazing Pizza & Prosecco restaurant next door: delicious and excellent service!

Good value hotel which provides a pleasant stay and a decent base to explore. The museum district is only ten minutes walk and thirty minutes walk to the RLD

Trams outside the hotel are frequent if you can work out which door to get on!

Few good eateries near the hotel including pizza restaurant next door, nice bar opposite in the corner.

If you are looking to see the city on the hop give Mikes Bike Tour a go, great fun a good way to see Amsterdam

Good clean hotel, with good staff on reception. Located in a quiet part of town with the number 1 tram stop directly outside the hotel. This runs through most of the busy parts of town and ends at Central station. We were asked if we wanted a quiet room and took this option, our room was in a secondary block linked to the main part of the hotel by a 'walkway' bridge. Being in the main block would havbe been a little closer to reception/bar/breakfast room and didn't appear to be any noisier than the 'quiet' rooms. Was offered breakfast at a 'special offer' price of 10 euros, but was poor value. If I stayed again (which I would) I'd buy a coffee and a pastry at the bar for half the price. If you write review text, it should be at least 50 characters, otherwise only your ratings will count.

Nothing bad can really be said about this hotel. It just does its job.
Comfy bed, clean and warm room that's of decent size, elevator (not stairs), had to ask for the kettle from reception, clean and spacious bathroom although the shower head was not working that well (i.e the water was spouting all over the place and the cold and hot water responded slowly to the movement of the tap).
Didn't get the breakfast so can't really comment on that.
Free Wifi -> This adds another star to a hotel in my personal opinion.
The most important thing about a hotel is that it should not spoil the entire trip, which this hotel does remarkably well.

I needed to stay for just one night and was surprised by the price/quality. The room was clean as was the bathroom/toilet. The bed was good (not too hard, and not too soft) and for € 59.00 very neatly priced.

Hi, we stayed in the this hotel for a short holiday to Amsterdam. The hotel is about 15 mins by tram (No.1) to the city centre so is reasonably convenient. It is a new hotel with clean and well laid out rooms, which were a little on the small side. I recommend booking a room in a high floor as we did so the traffic/tram noises don't disturb. I would also suggest to the hotel that they produce instructions on how to dial reception - we had to dial out to speak to downstairs! Otherwise, would recommend this hotel to any future customer.
