“Incredible place - book it now, you'll have no regrets!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2011

My wife and I just got back from three weeks of travel and during our Amsterdam visit we stayed at Mauro Mansion. As all of the reviews before us have stated, we just can't say enough great things about this awesome hotel. We really felt at home - the owners Berry and Marcel are super accommodating and approachable. They helped us out with places to eat and tickets to attractions/museums and every morning they provided a relaxed, casual breakfast experience in the lounge. The rooms were large, incredibly comfortable with big beds and baths and each had its own trendy quirks. Room 12 is great!

Thanks for an amazing stay - hoping to come back soon.

I would highly recommend this small/boutique hotel to any one who is thinking about staying in Amsterdam. Five minute walk from central station, very clean and hip decor, excellent breakfast and incredibly helpful.

What a marvelous, well-located gem of a hotel! Berry & Marcel are the genuinely friendly, helpful owners, who plied us with excellent service and fantastic breakfasts during our weekend stay. The hotel is an easy 5-minute walk from the Central Station (which, in turn, is an easy 20-min train ride from the airport), and located along one of the canals. It is especially desirable to be near the Central Station, because all the trams (which are the easiest, fastest way to get around) depart from outside the station.
The hotel's lobby is connected to the breakfast room, where people not only eat, but also congregate and chat. There is a laptop for the guest's use. Breakfast is wonderful - fresh-squeezed OJ, an elaborate coffee/cappucino/latte machine (available - free of charge - all day), delicious and warm fresh breads, cheese/meats/etc, fruit, muesli, yogurt, and even fresh loose-leaf teas with disposable teabags. The rooms' minibars are stocked with 6 free drinks upon arrival (beer, soda, juice), and there is also an 'honesty' fridge in the breakfast room with wine, prosecco and sparkling wine, beer, water, sodas, et al. - all very reasonably priced. Our room was very comfortable (great beds, nice bedding) and extremely modish! We had a wonderful view over the canal. In the bathroom, we were well-stocked with Ritual bath products and really nice towels. Special touches abound at the Mauro.
We were very appreciative that Berry could generate our front-of-the-line Van Gogh Museum tickets (as well as Rijks Museum tix) and add the charge to our hotel bill, and also was happy to print our boarding passes.
Finally, we were extremely impressed that - after mentioning prior to arrival that one of our fellow travelers was gluten-intolerant - Berry & Marcel provided her with high-quality gluten-free breads during the duration of our stay!
If I had one very tiny dislike, it was the folding metal chairs in our room - not very comfortable, especially for pregnant gals (2 of us are with-child). But that was certainly outweighed by the avalanche of wonderfulness experienced at Mauro!

I had the option of a 22hr connecting flight in Schipol or to go Amsterdam. It couldn't have been better. "Stuck" in Amsterdam in between two long-haul flights, this hotel made me feel comfortable and relax.

This hotel has an excellent location and a friendly high-quality concept. It is located within walking distance from Amsterdam central station - if you travel light, is perfect, feels you're moving "in your city". An the service is top-quality. Simple concepts and designs, but you have everything. Marcel and Barry, hotel managers, make you feel at home.

Barry and Marcel were excellent hosts. They were very helpful with email correspondence before the trip. Mauro Mansion is located feet from the train station and located close to everything. Excellent home made breakfast each morning with local Dutch touches. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable with heated bathroom floors. Located directly on the canal it is very picturesque. Very well done.

The Mauro is in the middle of the old town and eventhough calm. The holders Berry & Marcel are always around if you need them and give informations about everything you would like to know. The breakfast is healthy, the quality is high and we go everything our heard disired. Every morning Berry or Marcel brought somethin special, like the small Dutch pankakes or vanillia yoghurt with fresh stawberries or breakfast cakes...hm lovely! The room was very nice and clean. If ever we come back to Amsterdam we will stay again in the Mauro Manison!

The Hotel is in a perfect location, just one minute from the station/china town/red light district etc. but in a silent and safe road. From outside the Hotel appears like a private home (which it is for the owners) and also inside You feel home very quickly. There is a breakfast room with kitchen. Guests are free to serve themselves and just then honestly remember what they had and pay for it. Minibar is free. The shower was perfect, built in on the ground, not a tub and the room itself was very specially designed, modern but also with antique furniture as well as a 2nd floor with a metal cage (for decoration or what ever You like...).
TV+DVD player and a supply of DVDs in the kitchen. The perfect place to stay for a reasonable price and have the feeling You have Your own apatement in Amsterdam.
