“Good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

The hotel had a good location very close to a tram stop. The staff at the front desk were very helpful and helped us with directions and attraction bookings ons several occasions. The rooms were clean and reasonably sized. The bathrooms were OK, although the showers were very cramped. We did not have breakfast there, it worked out cheaper to buy your own food or go to cafés for something to eat.

The hotel is 1 block from the Van Gogh museum, and the tram #5 runs across the street to Amsterdam Centraal. So the location is very convenient. The staff is very helpful in giving advices about what to do, how to get around and where to find things. Room is modern and comfortable. Get room #106 to have a balcony! Free in room wifi. The price is right,

What a great surprise the Bronckhorst turned out to be! We wanted a budget week in central Amsterdam with the emphasis on budget. Well, as close to budget as we could get adjacent to the city's top attractions and within walking distance with cabin baggage to the airport bus. This dropped us beside the Concertgebouw concert hall, just across the road from the three principal museums. We turned right across the road and within five minutes turned into a quiet leafy street, and there it was, a short way along. The small reception hall was smart and our welcome speedy and efficient. We had booked a "small" room, and after a ride in a completely modern lift, so it turned out to be, But the toilet and shower had room enough, and all the bathroom and shower fittings were sparkling new. There was plenty of room around the generous double bed, but storage was very cramped and there was hardly any hanging space. There was, however, an excellent safe large enough to hold a laptop and all our travel papers with ease. Our fourth floor room had attractive views of the tree lined street outside.
The buffet breakfast was fair value at €9.50, offering an excellent selection of cereals, bread, rolls and croissants, cold meats, cheese, eggs, plus a coffee machine that actually dispensed nice coffee, as well as all the usual trimmings. The reception desk seemed to be manned at all hours, and the staff were uniformly helpful in dealing with queries about hotel or travel matters, or about the stupid tourist questions we all need someone to ask.
The walk back to the concert hall takes you past a number of overpriced but twee restaurants and upmarket shops, but just a little further on is the Pompa, advertising Mediterranean cooking, principally pasta dishes, and the place for sensibly priced evening meals. Along the side of the square lie the Modern Art Museum, the Van Goch Museum and the Rijksmuseum. So there you are, a short walk to four wonders of the world, and when you have tired of all these, why, the end of the street has a tram stop, to carry you to the delights of downtown Amsterdam. Wow! What a location, and what a nice place!

I was travelling with my mother to amsterdam when we stayed at Hotel Bronckhorst. We liked the place a lot.
Clean room, bed linen, bathroom(which was most important for us). They gave us a room on the ground floor which was very convenient. Brilliant location and very friendly staff. They helped us out a lot with directions and information on tourist attractions and what we should do and avoid.
The only negative(and a minor one for that) was the price. 15 euros cheaper would have been perfect!

We found this hotel last minute as our original plans to visit Barcelona were thwarted by the French ATC strikes. So....location great. Room so/so. Bathroom spotless. Bed so unsupportive it's like sleeping on a roller coaster. On our final night, tonight, I was woken just after midnight by rustling. Turned light on to find brown mouse rustling around in our suitcase. Have been moved to another room, but can't sleep. Rest assured, that mouse isn't the only one in this hotel. BTW, no we have no food with us, only a bottle of water. Take a chance if you stay here. Also, breakfast is an extra €9 each. We've been eating from a lovely patisserie/bakery just up the road each morning.

Been to Amsterdam a couple of times now and this has by far been the best hotel. Rooms are really clean and bathroom is nice and modern (with bath tubs). We had a balcony which was fab, had to share but no one was ever on it. Overall pleasant stay, will defo book here next time.
