“Bed bugs in our room”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2014

We stayed 3 nights from the 13th of June.
We paied a lot for a 3* hotel not in the center, but all hotels were fully booked.
The first night we found bed bugs in our bed. The room was n. 403.
At the reception there was a really nice Spanish guy that proposes to us to change the room.
He told us that the new room n. 103 was bigger and with the terrace.
The room was the same and the terrace was a balcony shared with the room next to our.
He gave us the free breakfast for all days (it was not included).
Unfortunately no other hotels were available in Amsterdam those days (with our budget), so we had to stay there.

Room Tip: Tell them not to give you the room n. 403.

We stayed with 11 people. There were also some rooms in the basement, next to the breakfast area! During the morning, it was annoying there was coming a lot of noise from the hallway. Al guests needs to pass through here.
The fire alarm went of during the second night of our stay! The hotel personnel didn't put any effort solving the situation.
The staff spoke a little bit of Dutch, but mainly they preferred English.

Located just behind Museum square this hotel is very neat and tidy. We got a double room at the back of the building because as the receptionist said it was quieter. Unfortunately there was nothing quiet about it that night as we huad people coming and going on our floor all night long with doors squeeking open and shutting closed. Very noisy it was. But hotel in it self is just fine, tram 24 drops you off right on the corner and it is an easy walk to the Rijksmeseum, Van. Gogh museum and het concert gebouw.

Great hotel for the price! Location was easy right next to the trams and had a great bakery near by! Also walking distance to the Van Gogh museum and Heinkein! Very clean, friendly staff, walking distance to a great eating district. Will stay here next time we are in Amsterdam!

Good location and pricing with simple and small rooms. The breakfast was a bit pricey in regard to what you get. When we arrived to breakfeast with 45 minutes left, we felt that the cheese, cucumber and other items hade gone a bit dry.
