“Great time altogether.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

I visited this hotel in December 2012 to go to see a concert in Amsterdam. We wanted to go cheap and found this was a great deal.

The hotel was right next to the central station and only a five minute walk to Dam Square when you know where to go. The breakfast was good, enough variety and lovely staff.

The hotel itself was great for what we need, just a place to stay. It wasn't dirty or in poor condition but it wasn't anything special. Just what was needed for us, somewhere to eat and sleep. The hotel was lovely and warm, internet access and the staff were happy to help if you required it.

Next time I go to stay in Amsterdam I will definitely be staying here again, it's cheap, central and all in all a good hotel.

Just returned from this hotel and had a very good experience. Reading the other reviews, it is like marmite, you either hate it or love it. On this occasion, I loved it. The rooms are clean with enough room to get dressed, I don’t want to be sitting in there all day. The en suite is a good size, with a good shower. Breakfast is served in the pub (molly malones) next door, continental of coarse, but it fills the length of the bar. The coffee is ok out of the machine, but if you don’t like it there is Nescafe sachets. The hotel is in a good location as others have told you, near the station, trams, pickup points for canal trips and pick up points for bus trips. My wife and I went with a couple of friends and we all had a great time.

The hotel was in a great location but again the rooms were not as good as the pictures! It was clean but is in need of decorating to the higher standard that you see in the pictures!
If they spent a little bit of money on new curtains and shower curtains, bed sheets etc it would be a great hotel.
The staff were very nice and helpful but I think for the quality of the hotel it's a little over priced!
Breakfast was not the best but for Amsterdam I guess that's the standard

I wasn't able to connect to the internet, the room was tiny, the dirt was everywhere, there were few towels (and with hairs, not mine), no spare pillows, only two electric sockets, the breakfast was simple but the coffee was awful, simply impossible to drink. The price was too much for what we receive.

Room Tip: Don't go there!!!!!!!

The hotel is good for short visits to Amsterdam. The rooms are small but very clean. The location is very good near restaurants and bars. The breakfast is good, with many kind of fruit.
It stays at a quite place, near everthing. We like to visit cities on foot, the hotel's location is perfect for that.

We arrived around 21:00hrs after booking 8 months in advance after booking it for its location to central Amsterdam, to be told we had been booked out to another hotel in the Amstel area further away from the central area. After refusing to be moved we were "rewarded" with a room with no windows and poor air conditioning, reception staff in hotel very unhelpful. On the plus side breakfast and booze in the Irish pub were great!

We stayed in this hotel because friends were on a budget. Their web site showed nice, clean, comfortable rooms for its 3 star status. OMG it was an absolute hell hole, the lift was broken, the room was freezing cold, the beds had no duvet covers on, there was just sheets placed on top of the dirty stained duvet itself . The bathroom was disgusting, the toilet was dirty and needed a good bleach, around the bath/shower it was black with mould, the shower head was caked in limescale and sprayed all over the place, our view was a wall. We asked for another room but was dismissed because the staff couldn't be bothered and we were told that was the best room available, I wouldn't have wanted to see the worst. If we were on our own we would have walked out but we were with friends who couldn't afford to change hotels so we stayed. It was a miserable experience, I'm so glad the beautiful city itself made up for it. I would never use this hotel again and would tell other travellers to avoid it and try other small hotels around that were much better for same price.

Room Tip: Go elsewhere.
