“Affordable and quiet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2013

Stayed here in March with 2 friends. The rooms were small but cosy.We had 3 single beds but it was all put together so it was like sleeping in one big bed!Very comfy too.Our room had a small balcony overlooking nice houses and a small lake. Its right next to Vondelpark so it was really good.If you don't mind walking, just walk your way out of Vondelpark and you're at the city centre where all the shop, museums, and restaurants are.

Overall, this was a pretty good stay.

ps:tiny tiny lift and dull breakfast :(

We spent 8 nights in a room ,no 205, overlooking Vondel Park. It has a lovely view from the small balcony area. Breakfast was good and it serves till 11 am . However most guests seemed to eat ealier. Vondel Park is big and the nearest park entrance is about 100 metres. The tram service is frequent and the stop for the hotel is nearby. The toilet (wc) and shower share the same floor. It is a "wet" room; a modern trend I noticed in some Irish hotels as well. The slant or incline does not guide the water from the shower into the plug-hole and you have to use the rubber blade that is provided to clear the floor. After that you put down a bathtowel and mop up the water the blade missed. If the shower area was sunk 2 to 3 cms. (an inch) there would not be a problem.
It is a good hotel and I would gladly stay there again. We did not use the Wi-Fi nor the air conditioning. A kettle, tea ,milk and coffee are provided. The staff were helpful and well informed. They answered all our questions and arranged our taxi to the Airport. The fare was 37 euros for the 2 of us, Oct 2013.

Room Tip: Ask for a room looking out on the Park

Small room and bathroom, but very clean with a comfortable bed. Very pleasant location in a quiet upmarket residential district. Frequent tram service into town just a few minutes away - journey time about 15 minutes. Supermarket and restaurants neraby. Excellent alternative to the more expensive centally located downtown hotels. Hand luggage only!

Yes, the hotel and rooms are small. The location is so charming that it makes up for almost everything else. Seriously, I love the setting of this hotel. They were even filming a movie down the street from the hotel and I can see why. It's nice to come back here and rest after running around all day around the canals. Prices are a bit high and still worth it.

The hotel is in a good location near restaurants and public transport connections. But the room was much too small. You couldn't fit a table under the minute desk. The only way to do any work was to pull the bed forward and perch on some pillows. The bathroom was a sort of wetroom so water flooded all over the floor and wouldn't drain away. The staff came and mopped it up when I was out. If you just need a bed for the night it would be OK but you can't work here.

Tiny bud clean rooms with a nice view to a quiet park.
Friendly staff.
Also possibility to rent a bike for a whole day (don’t lose a key as we did ;-))
Good tram connection (nr. 2) to city center (about 10 min)

Room Tip: 204 bigger than others ;-)

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in April 2013. The room was fairly small, but clean. The staff was very helpful and their suggestions regarding the best restaurants in the area or the places to visit were good. The breakfast was ok, but the dining-room was too small to accommodate all the visitors.
I saved the best for last: the location was an advantage from my point of view, as I was able to come and go via the park.
