“Hotel AA more like...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2014

This was my eleventh trip to Amsterdam, and I was initially a little reluctant to stay in a cheaper hotel due to my budget, however I'm glad we stayed at Hotel CC.

The room was very clean and cosy with the heating already turned on for our arrival. The bathroom was spotless, as was the bedding and sheets. As of January 2014 everything seemed relatively new.

The location is pretty much perfect. There are plenty of cafes and eateries just seconds walk from the entrance, so the hotel not having a breakfast option was actually a good thing in the end. As well as cafes the Hill Street Blues and Greenhouse Effect coffee shops are also within seconds walk, and are two of the best coffeeshops in 'Dam. There is also a launderette a few doors down, in case your are travelling light. The Red Light District is also just down the road and around the corner if that's your thing. If you are mainly interested in the museums you will have to be prepared to walk or take a tram to the south end of town.

I was also surprised to see a safe in the room. I had a lot of cash to bring home with me and I would have brought it had the safe been in the room description. You might want to phone the hotel to confirm that your booked room has a safe or not before you bring any valuables.

It can periodically get a little rowdy out on the street from say midnight to 2am, so you may want to try some ear plugs if you're a super-sensitive sleeper.

Overall we were more than satisfied with the accommodation, and can't wait to return next year. :)

Room Tip: Units facing the street (same side as entrance) are best for sunlight, church bells, and view.

This is the nicest hotel i have stayed in whilst visiting Amsterdam, it's also the most expensive. I felt the rooms were too small for the price they were charging per night, approximately £95. However the hotel was spotless, and the bathrooms were beautifully designed, but space really was an issue.
The location (red light district) was great and central with many lovely restaurants within minutes walk.
I wouldn't return to Hotel CC, due to having stayed in much better value hotels in the city.

Tip.. Do not pay extra for Large Deluxe room. We did, and upon arrival were truly gobsmacked by how small the room was. I requested a change of room, and we were moved to a 'standard room' which was larger.

Room Tip: Do not pay extra for deluxe room.

We stayed for 2 nights. Arrived at 9.30 am. And were told very rudely we cant check in till 2pm. Checkout is 11 am. And still at 1.50pm the room wasnt ready. When we got to room 001 it is the smallest room in the world directly on the main street so you get people knocking on the window at 3am.. on departure the staff were really friendly helping us with our taxi. And they let u keep ur suitcase in the lock up. Think an option for early checkin/late departure sgould be available. And the price of £150 for a night is far too excessive for the size of the room.

I have been to Amsterdam to many times and I would never stay anywhere else but here, rooms clean, close to everything (coffe shops) would say its a little bit pricey but it's worth it cause most hotels I've viewed in Amsterdam were minging. This hotel would be perfect if the price was a little cheaper IDE be their 4 times a year!!
