“Amazing food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2014

Me and my friend had a lovely meal here. The restaurant was cosy and quaint, the waitress was very sweet and the food was absolutely delicious. Apart from some noisy diners at another table it was a calm oasis to relax in, definitely try the draught beer!

“Very welcoming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2014

This is a small, welcoming restaurant. I had grilled chicken salad with a delicious dressing and my husband had a lovely lamb shank served with salad and very good fries. It's on a street full of restaurants, but this one is worth seeking out.

“Another great Dutch restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2013

This was the last Dutch restaurant we tried in our trip, and again very good option. Service great and food delicious. We arrived a little bit early than the official open hours, but the waiter saw us, being tourists, and they open up the place (Thanks!). The place is small but makes you feel comfortable. Highly recommended.

“Don't miss this one.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013 via mobile

I ate here twice last year when visiting Amsterdam with a friend and have now introduced my boyfriend to its delights. The restaurant is small but has a friendly atmosphere. The menu isn't extensive but offers a good variety of choice and there are always "specials" on offer. Best steak my BF has ever had - no mean feat when you brother in law was a chef at the Dorchester! The fries are scrummy and the special dessert - poached pears, cream and cinammon ice cream was delicious. We may well visit again tonight! Update - we did return and the meal was excellent. The waitress remembered us too!

“Local character”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

Just stayed in the American Hotel, Liedesplein and was delighted to find a restaurant that wasn't another bland, generic tourist setup. It's about 10 feet wide and stuffed with quirky charm. Food is cheap and very well cooked. The menu is 'traditional Dutch' which seems to be simple food and plenty of it. Wine list is too small (three or four cheap reds only) but that seems to be its approach. If you are after a quaint, cosy and informal Amsterdam atmosphere this is great. Good food, reasonably priced and great, friendly service. Came away feeling full and charmed.
