“Perfectly cute and cozy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2013

I woke up every morning to the enticing smell of fresh bread! Breakfast was absolutely scrumptious, service was friendly and the location was perfect. Walk to museums, tram stops, theatre, restaurants and shops. It was relaxing to sit and watch the boats on the canal or the geese float by. Have a leisurely breakfast or get up and go. What else are you going to do in your hotel room while you're in a city like Amsterdam besides sleep and shower? So the size is adequate. Wear study shoes for the stairs and when you pack remember that you'll carry your bag up and down. Boutique Hotel View was a great choice for a warm, friendly feel.

Great reception by Nataly, owner and great Amsterdam insider! Very nice room, close to many attractions and various transit ways; spacious for A'dam; very cool furnishings and interiors; nice spread in mornings (not included); good coffee; we had a corner room overlooking two canals - mice!

Room Tip: Ask for upgrade.

If you love the feeling of family in a new city, this is the place for your Amsterdam stay. I was welcomed with the offer of fresh coffee or tea in the cozy dining room, just what I needed after my trek from the train station. The buffet breakfast was fresh with homemade bread and fresh fruit, eggs are cooked to order. I was able to check in early and get a small rest in, the river view room had a great view overlooking the canal and a very quiet street, it was just the right size for sleeping and bathing. The hotel is in a perfect location for museums, you can walk to them, a short walk to some great food and a tram ride to the city center. The friendly and modern atmosphere made this a wonderful stay, I will be back the the Boutique Hotel View again!

Very friendly and homely small hotel located near to Leidseplein and within walking distance of Rijksmuseum and van Gogh museum. Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby (try the Blauwe Hollander for authentic Dutch food). Bus 197 to/from Schiphol airport is very handy (just round the corner outside the American Hotel). Our room was a bit small; you may be better requesting a larger room if space is important to you. Enjoyed the breakfast for an extra 10 euros (you are unlikely to get anything better away from the hotel).

Room Tip: Better to avoid the small rooms of space is important to you.

The plusses - The staff at the hotel are incredibly genuine and friendly. Two of the mornings I stayed there I got to hear the ladies sing along with the radio and one morning I got to hear one of them practice her ukulele. Adorable. As others have mentioned, the pancakes (especially the apple ones) are very good and the location of the hotel is ideal for visitors. I like the human feeling of the place and would definitely stay there again.

That said, please understand that the room was so so - Although perfectly comfortable, the regular rooms are rather basic. The sheets and pillows were clean but need replacing, the carpet needed some vacuuming, the wifi is super slow, and the room pretty much feels like a dorm room. My friend stayed in a slightly nicer room, but still nothing to write home about.

Room Tip: The higher up the better. But be prepared for steep, narrow steps.

This is one of the best small hotels that I've stayed in in Europe. It is right around the corner from the bus to/from the airport for 4 euros. It is in a lively neighborhood with theaters, bars, restaurants and shopping but doesn't feel too touristy. I did have the best room, a triple on the second floor with a little balcony and views of the canal. Breakfast was absolutely incredible and served with such friendliness and care. Everything was fresh and amazing for only 10 euro. I paid 17 euro for a breakfast that was terrible earlier in the week at a higher level hotel. Snacks, drinks, coffee always available to purchase at the front desk. The staff gave us super great advice on where to eat with locals.

Room Tip: advise a triple if you can afford it room 203
