My boyfriend and I stayed here from the 9th - 11th June. We arrived early and was told we could leave our luggage and they will make our room up for us early! The tv bracket in our room was stuck facing the ceiling the staff were very apologetic and said they would get a engineer out to fix it that day, my boyfriend fixed it for then and we was offered a free breakfast which was appreciated! The pancakes are very tasty and highly reccomended! We loved the hotel and it was perfect for what we wanted. The service and atmosphere was 10/10 and the breakfast was amazing! It was a little expensive but what city hotels aren't? We have just booked another trip to Amsterdam in October for my boyfriends birthday and will be booking boutique hotel as accommodation then! The rooms were clean, cosy and we had a gorgeous view of the canal. We were in room 104 which as mentioned in previous reviews is a small room but the size was no problem for us. The staff are very welcoming and are happy to help suggesting trips and share their local knowledge! It is nice to go somewhere and feel your custom is appreciated, As well as staff remembering your plans and asking how ur day / trip was which is something you wouldn't get staying in a chain of hotels. I would defiantly reccomend boutique hotel to a friend. My only negative would be the shower, I didn't like how the water went all over bathroom floor. We loved Amsterdam and can't wait to come back, the location is brilliant about 5 min walk to main square not too far but far enough not to hear it late at night! Others also complained of noise we didn't experience any noise outside the hotel or on the stairs and we was above the main entrance! Look forward to returning in October, thank you for a wonderful stay and for the toothpaste :-)

Fantastic rooms, location, staff, pets and breakfast- what more could you want, all at a reasonable price. Friendly, good service and nothing was too much trouble.

One Pack and Natalie were very welcoming and the omlettes and pancakes for breakfast were lovely. My young daughter loved the fact that we returned to cats and a dog every day. Good restaurants are all within reach and they dont have an issue with you bringing in supermarket food and drink to keep the costs down, in fact they suggested it.

The location was central and everything is just 10 mins walk away and the tramstops are a block away if you feel the need to go further.

On arrival, we found we had been upgraded to a large double overlooking the canal with a balcony. This was lovely and I found the faint ringing of tram bells the only noise but somehow quite relaxing. The room and the rest of the hotel is spotless and towels and tolietries are nice. The staff are always happy to carry your bags up and down the stairs for you.

Travelling as a single parent, the staff made me feel welcome but more importantly, safe and secure. Thanks to all of you. I will definately return to Hotel View on my next trip to Amsterdam. in fact, my boyfriend is insisting on it, I think he's quite jealous!

Room tip: We had a large double overlooking the canal with a small balcony. Room 203. It was very roomy and the view was lovely.

Very good all round, excellent cheerful & helpful staff, disappointing only thru' sleep disturbance traffic? outside & clunky stairs inside, perhaps double glazing & covering for stair treads would resolve.

We didn’t book through any of the discount booking sites but emailed directly with the hotel. After reading other reviews we didn’t want to book a room with too many stairs because of an old injury. Our initial enquiries were replied to promptly and clearly and we secured a canal view room on the first floor.
If you can handle the stairs, a room higher up could be just as good or even have a better view. Our hostess Nathalie was very strong and insisted on carrying suitcases and bags up the stairs for everyone.
We were lucky enough to be given an upgrade to the deluxe canal view room and it was fabulous. Huge with a great view and opening windows. Bathroom with a shower over the bath. The king size bed was two singles pushed together. Very quiet room – we were directly above the breakfast room and beside the stairs but didn’t hear a thing. The curtains really blocked out the early sunrises too. The small canal room was pretty small so we were very glad of the upgrade. Free wifi.
There was a huge choice for breakfast – cereals, meats, breads, juices and cooked – either eggs or pancakes. Nathalie is the pancake doctor and whips up a variety of her secret recipe each morning on request.
We stayed 2 nights and would stay here again. Location was great too.

We are still impressed by all the hospitality and helpfulness we met in this hotel. There is an incredibly good atmosphere in the reception room that serves also as breakfast and tea place or reading/computer room. The lady running this place is outstanding in many respects.

- rooms comfortable and with nice views onto canals or the backyard
- stairs are very steep (this is Amsterdam...)
- traffic connection good, airport bus within 5min walk / 3 tram lines nearby
- walls in the house are thin, little acoustic isolation
- breakfast for 10 EUR is recommended - all homemade and fresh (pancakes....)

Go and see for yourself, you won't be diointed !!

Room tip: 1st floor, canal view
