“Decent steak marred by ridiculously slow service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013 via mobile

It took about forty minutes for our starter. It was hot rolls. We had to remind them. No apology but simply a grand announcement that our rolls would come soon. Steak was decent enough and there was plenty of it. 75 euro for two. Bread starter. Two steaks. On desert. Three beers (small) and three wines. The slow service and lack if apology ruined the night. We didn't tip for the first time in years

“Interesting”

Lobster with steak, interesting combination but there was nothing else to remember. The atmosphere was sympathetic and the service very good.

In Gauchos you can always eat a good steak. This particular Gauchos is very busy due to its location and the tourist season.Staff found us a table and were friendly and helpful. Food was good and also pricey.

“Amazing steaks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

In general you can't go wrong at any Gauchos however this one deserves a review.

We made a reservation on a busy thursday night and were running late. When calling the restaurant after our reservation time they told us it was no problem and they'd keep our table for 6. If you're looking for a restaurant with a special ambiance or locating don't go here. If you want one of the best beef in Amsterdam continue reading.

Once arrived we were greeted and seated. Drinks order was taken and was swiftly delivered with warm bread and dried tomato tapenade + aioli.
Delivering the orders for the starter and main took a while (restaurant was full) however was worth the wait. Everybody in our party was impressed by the quality of the meat and the sides. Everybody's meat order was cooked to their order - we did not have to return anything to the kitchen. Please note the meat and sides needs to be ordered seperately. Dessert has a wide range of choices and are also of a high quality.

As I said in the beginning: In general you can't go wrong with any Gauchos restaurant however this one stands out in terms of food.
