“Fabulous hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

This hotel is amazing and the staff are great.
Rooms are really modern and spotlessly clean.
This is a cool and trendy hotel.
I will definitely be visiting again soon!
There is a tram stop 2 minutes away so you can travel into Dam Square in about ten minutes.

Certainly one of the best hotels I stayed in during business travel - thought through and designed for the individualist business traveller - great rooms, great breakfast, great lounge to work, relax and socialize. The Amsterdam CitizenM is excellently located close to the RAI (5 minute walk across a park) as well as for morning runs in the Beatrix Park and the famous Amstel Park!

This hotel is located a bit away from the action, but a frequent streetcar a half block away gets you to the center of the city in about 20 minutes. There's not too much around in the way of restaurants, mostly just apartments. The area felt safe to me. there are large and very nice parks quite close. Realize, however, that this is a different kind of hotel. Imagine a hotel where you register yourself, where your room is very small and very modern and efficient (the toilet and showers are located in the room itself between the large bed and the door) Make sure your roommates are good friends because there will be very minimal privacy (it would be awkward with older kids, particularly teens). That said, I am in my mid seventies and I found the room fine an the lobby experience excellent.. The real strength of the place is the lobby with large and exceptionally comfortable public areas, an interesting decor, a friendly staff, a fascinating clientele, a buffet and an agreeable bar. All at a reasonable price. The concept seems to be that you hang out and relax in the lobby, and go to your small room and its big bed only to sleep or whatever. Most of the clients are in their 30s but there are people of all ages. I'd hesitate to take children, but they'd be welcome. Overall a great place, but not for all.

The rooms are well designed, but way too small for the rates.
There are quotes saying "citizenM says: ..." everywhere in the hotel. It just feels like it's too much. We get it, the hotel wants to be considered hip, while still offering tiny rooms with "chain-hotel-looking" furniture. It just feels like a hyped-up Ibis.
The entertainment system is nice with a huge offer of fairly recent movies for free, though the radios did not work. As for the control pad, it feels a little useless and not intuitive to use as the screen is way too small.
The staff were friendly, the bar area is pleasant. Personally, I feel like the check-in kiosk is way too impersonal, but it might work for others.
Overall, it's a decent hotel, but the rates are just unjustified.

Room Tip: All rooms are the same.

When the activity at Amsterdam RAI for businessreason was closed for the day, I took a 10 min walk to this hotel which was prebooked. They had some trouble with the booking system, but all the arriving hotelguests were invited on a glass of beer while waiting before the electronic keys was finished. I was followed to my roomdoor and they opened it manually. Later in the evening I went down to get the roomkey, and to have something to eat for the evening. They offered a tasteful indonesian dish and wine was also possible. I think I will book a room here next time I'm visiting RAI, which is just a short walk away, and addition very convenient to reach from and to Schipol airport.

Great hotel if you have a flight to catch, a short walk to the airport. Love this tech concept! Easy computer check in and out, make own keys! Great living spaces and work spaces on the main level. Rooms high tech too!

I am not pretentious person and I think you get what you paid for -- so here is the price of 250 EUR per night - and what you get ???
SHIP CONTAINER ! With toilet and shower in the middle of the room, no chance even to do the push-up on the floor as this is so small - but they have porno program for free - hmmm not my style
But when I read the description it say stylish , new high tech .. But not at all
Just not comfortable
Also - if you end to have a receipt for breakfast or dinner - it will not be shown in your daily bill but it will be sum all together as 1 bill for 150 EUR
although internet speed is outstanding ;)
