“Very recommended!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2014

The hotel was great! The staff was very friendly. The food and drinks were very fresh (orange juice = freshly squeezed juice). The room was awesome! Love the mood control and the option of changing lights in my room. The mood control even allowed you to control the music according to your mood/actions;) (romantic - romantic music etc.). The only thing that was quite annoying was the shower, because in order for it to work you had to close the cabin properly - and if you did there was a small space that let the water go through on the floor (although not much). But once you got it working - it was best shower experience ever! Like waterfall in your room.! :))) The transport is great - to the airport as well as to the city centre and all the shops and coffee shops ;]. If you ask the staff they would recommend you great places to see. I would give this hotel 9.5 out of 10! (a half taken away for the shower :D). Ohhhh and the free wifi works great!

Room Tip: We had a room on the 4th floor and it was great. But I don't think it matters or differs much...

Stayed at citizen m for a sightseeing trip in amsterdam. The staff here make the hotel atay so enjoyable, they have clear customer service skills a good knowledge of the area and are more than happy to provide directions and recommendations. They create a friendly warm atmosphere especially paul and i believe his name was aldin. Rooms very modern, comfy bed, large underbed storage for 2 cases, large choice of free movies. Great links to airport and all tourist attractions. The cocktails here are amazing i highly recommend passionfruit martini or dissarano sour :)

Unique hotel. This hotel however may not appeal to all especially those who want to have a certain degree of intimacy between one another due to pod placements of toilet and shower. I loved the ultra modern feel to the place.I especially loved the pods. Mood lighting in them was fun. You could change the colour of the shower and toilet lighting from green to red to blue.

The bed was very comfy but one of you will have to do the crawl over for the washroom during the night though.

Not alot of room in the room though. It is a bit of a tight squeeze for 2 folks and a buncha luggage. We travel very light, so no worries.

All staff were extremely happy and helpful and appeared to really enjoy working there.

The lobby seemed to go on forever. Very modern furniture, and many different areas to sit in.
The breakfast was substantial, but not overwhelming.

The proximity to the airport was terrific. Just a hop and a skip and a jump under a covered walkway, (most of the way).

I'll be staying here from now on for my Amsterdam trips and I've already booked it for Kings Day weekend.

As others have remarked, it's very close to Schiphol and the number 5 tram goes all the way to Centraal station (20 mins), stopping at the museum district (10 mins) and the Dam (15 mins), so even though it's not in the centre, it's really easy to get to the major sights.

Service is friendly and there are lots of seating areas in the lobby for lounging around and meeting people. The room itself was quite small but fine for one person. I don't know if other rooms are bigger and whether there would be more privacy when using the toilet and shower when sharing a room as the toilet and shower cubicles have sliding glass doors.

The safe is very small though and you won't fit a laptop in there - iPads will be OK. Also, if you're going to the Rijksmuseum, buy your ticket online and print the ticket. It'll save you a long wait, especially around lunchtime.

I stayed one night at Citizen M Amsterdam. It is one stop on train away from Schipol airport and it takes 7 min on train and 5 or 10 min. to walk to hotel. you come out of train station exiting out of entrance at the (opposite) far end and walk past the bikes parked then go right and the hotel is a few minutes walk on the street on the left.
checkin was quick and easy from a helpful reception 'Ambassador' called Leonardo. room was clean and is small but functional, with a nice double bed, pillows and duvet. amenities are basic, soap and shampoo provided but no slippers, etc. I liked that one can regulate the room temperature, blinds, mood lighting, TV, everything, from the remote control! BBC 1and 2 are available, plus loads of Movies you can select from for no extra cost.

breakfast buffet was adequate and offered yoghurt, muesli, fruit, cafe latte, toast, croissant, etc. and was fine for me.

although I only stayed one night on a business trip, I would stay here again as it is also conveniently close to the museum areas which I will visit next time. Ambassadors also advise and provide concierge services too.

for one person its fine, for two it'd be cramped as only one small desk to put luggage on.

Stayed there before taking a flight in Amsterdam. 5 minute walk to the airport (outdoors however...not covered). Small room (even for European standards) but very clean. Funky open concept - basically the bathroom is inside the room - hint: to activate the water in the shower you have to close the glass doors! (took me a while to realize this....). Overall, cool business style. The check in is online (great for business travelers - no fuss, done quickly), the bar has food (again, like bar food). Zen concept to the hotel - but it works!!!!

We stayed here previously in Feb 2012 and didn't even have to think twice of where would stay this time. The hotel itself is one stop from Schiphol Airport by train (average 5-10minutes) stopping at Amsterdam Zuid. The tram service back and forth to Grand Central via Dam Square and Leidseplein etc. stops directly outside the hotel and runs until 12:30 nightly (average cost for 3 day travel pass 16Euros!).
As we have previously stayed with the hotel, you are recognized when booking as a past 'citizen' upon log-in and this gives you special rates, which is always a thumbs up!
The self check-in service at the hotel is so easy and modern it gives you the opportunity to get settled in and go sight-seeing as soon as possible so you don't have to spend as much time on the more technical stuff, they also always have greeting staff there to assist you if it's your first time to the hotel. Usually upon check-in you will be asked which facing room would you prefer ie. Garden facing or Street facing, however this time we where not given an option...as Citizen M had organized a small surprise in my room before we got there as it was my birthday.
Note: When looking at pictures online of the rooms they do appear a little smaller in pictures than in person, the rooms themselves are fully equipped and spacious enough for your average relaxing/sight-seeing stay.
The bar/lobby/lounge area span across the whole ground floor of the building so no matter how busy it is there's always room to sit down and catch up on a movie/a cocktail before going out. The hotel also just got a new bar in Jan and are offering a greater food and drinks menu than before with something available for everyone! And i was glad to see they kept my all time favourite Passion Fruit Cocktail-highly recommended!!
There is an ironing room available on the ground floor also, and the lovely house keeping staff call around every day to replenish the rooms.
We cannot say a bad word about the hotel...especially the staff, everyone is so happy and friendly you can tell it's a great atmosphere to work as it shows in how they represent themselves.
As it was my birthday a card was left in my room before we had arrived inviting me to the bar for a birthday cocktail during our stay from Citizen M. Upon sitting at the bar i was greeted by the lovely Justine who was so lovely to us i cannot even put into words, she really went above and beyond to make me feel extra special on my birthday. She offered me any cocktail i wanted from the menu...which if you hadn't already guessed i chose the P. F. Cocktail, and then surprised us with streamers/party poppers, birthday cake with a big candle and champagne. She was just so so lovely we had great conversations/laughs with her, such a genuine kind and friendly person- a definite asset to the Citizen M team!
Would we stay here again? Absolutely in our eyes there is no other option!
Brilliant service and staff for a brilliant price! A big thank you to all the staff especially Justine! :)

Room Tip: Garden facing rooms are supposedly a little quieter(not that we have ever experienced noise during a...
