“Sleep like the dead”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2014 via mobile

Best sleep I have ever had in an hotel. Run. Don't walk.

The self check-in is quick and easy. The lobby and sidewalk surrounding the building can be crowded with young hotel guests, and the elevators were busy. The drinks and food in the bar area are expensive, but convenient (makes sense). The doors to the rooms can be tricky. You have to not mind using the bathroom in front of your significant other/roommate. You must also love sleeping better than you have slept in weeks. The bed--so comfy. Total blackout curtain panel thing. I would stay at another citizen m or this one again, no hesitation. Great value for the money, and despite the hotel's overall busy-ness and young demographics, I can't even get over how well I slept and for such a great price.

Last thought: tram from centraal station was easy enough. Never waited long at the stop. Quiet, safe neighborhood.

Did I mention the best sleep of my two week trip??

You arrive and you can self checkin. Everything is included in price. Room, wifi, call.... (Yes including international calls, yes I even had to ask 4 times).

The room was different. The was a big bed at the end of the room. And clear glass pod for the shower and another for the toilet. So definitely for single people or couples who kind to see;)

The whole room was controlled by one remote. The curtains, the mood lighting, the tv, the everything.

Downstairs the food was served like a checkout in a supermarket. Everything was in vending machines.

That was a little disappointing.

It's the 2nd CitizenM i've stayed and the high standards is the same. Very friendly staff, great features in the hotel such as wifi everywhere and great room. Would only recomend them bike renting, that would be perfect. Definitely nr 1 choice in Amsterdam.

Room Tip: rooms with view to garden seem nicer.

Stayed here for NYE for three nights, such a lovely hotel, very modern, the room is amazing, being the shower and bed, the toilet is very loud haha, all adds to the fun though!
The staff are lovely and I think it is considerably priced. You can lounge around the lobby all day and still feel comfortable.
Can't rate fitness centre as did not use it - wasn't aware there was one?
Will def stay here again. Tram stop is literally outside, directly goes into the centre and takes 15 minutes

I booked this hotel on a recommendation from a friend. I really enjoyed all the quirky features from start to finish. The check in was smooth and staff very friendly/chatty. Room lovely, although if you are with a friend or haven't been with the person for long then the toilet and shower being in the room might be a problem but was fine for us. Lovely big bed and tv with lots of free movies etc. Free wifi was a big seller for me too! If you are wanting breakfast, book the night you arrive to save money! The hotel was hard to locate for a first time visitor like myself as we used the public transport rail link from the airport. I asked at one of the tour shops and the guy there was very helpful (everyone seemed very pleasant in Amsterdam, always willing to help). He told us to get the number 5 tram and where to get off. There is a stop right outside the hotel, so once we got the hang of it, it was easily accessible. This is the business area of Amsterdam and about 20 minutes on the tram away from the centre. All in all, I had a great stay here :)

Stayed here with my boyfriend. We didn't like the first room they gave us so they changed it for us straight away, it was no problem.
The rooms are small and basic but just what you need really if you're only staying there for a short time.
The hotel itself is aesthetically amazing. Very high tech and chic, we didn't have breakfast so I can't comment but I saw other guests breakfasts and they looked really tasty
It's just a short walk to the city. All in all a lovely hotel

A room whitout any fuss... just like you want it to be for a short stay.
The reception and bar are wonderful... you feel really at home. Also free internet and printing service is like it should be. Maybe a good idea for the hotel to rent some bikes...?
Diner and breakfast is simple but great. You will see me back.
