Description: Vinkeles is housed in an old bakery; which was set up in 1787 by the Regents of the Catholic Church, who at the time owned the building. The bakery flourished until 1811 and guests still can see the original ovens, which were discovered intact during restoration work.Echoing the décor of the hotel, Executive Chef Dennis Kuipers’ menu combines the traditional and the modern. The dishes served in Vinkeles show Kuipers’ love of the contemporary French cuisine. He combines the freshest ingredients to produce a menu that is delicious and unique to Vinkeles. In 2009 restaurant Vinkeles was awarded a Michelin star.

“Great family evening at Vinkeles”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2014

We wanted to share our passion for Gourmet Restaurants with our teenage daugther and her boyfriend and give them the same amazing experience with good quality food and prepared with great love and feeling. We had the full tasting menu for all 4 of us and the wine menu for us 2 adults. After the first 2½ hours of one great dish after another (around half of the tasting menu served) - the two 17 year olds said that the first hour (!) had been very nice and with great food - they couldn't beleive that time passes so quickly when being served by very polite and humourus staff. One of the teenagers didn't want one of the dishes, so the staff very fast suggested, that he could have both desserts instead - very nice option :-). Next day her boyfriend stated, that he obviously wasn't as picky with food as he thought, because some of the fish dishes was he's new favourite food (he doesn't eat fish normally). We can greatly recommend Vinkeles - both for a romantic evening in the very stylish and peacefull restaurant and when sharing a great meal with others. Probably not the best place to take Young children unless they are used to very long meals and enjoying sitting still for many hours :-).

“Amazing meal for our 30th wedding anniversary”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2014

Just spectacular from the amuse bouche (x3) through to the deserts.

The first was an edible pearl in a golden oyster shell! Very appropriator and perfect for our 30th (pearl) anniversary - but everyone had it!

We had the 6 course menu (we would have had 8 but we don't like sweetbreads) plus wine flight - 200 Euro per head expensive but so worth it

Only tiny criticism (if I was going to be picky) was that by having 6 courses we ended up having 3 fish courses one after the other all lovey but it was gurnard, then sea bass then turbot - all cooked amazingly differently.

The pigeon is just fantastic - highly recommend

They served our puddings on a plate with Congratulations stencilled on - very nice and they acknowledged our celebration.

Staff were lovely, very helpful and attentive - knowledgeable and teh whole evening was perfect

“An unforgettable Aniversery experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2014

Our 30th. Pearl Anniversary Dinner - we booked here having read the menu and reviews. We entered with high expectations and left having had them exceeded.
We had the Chef's menu, 6 courses with the wine flight. The 3 'amuse bouche', starting with a frozen Pearl of oyster juice and Liqueur on an Oyster shell, before we started, were each a delight.
Having omitted 2 non fish courses our first 3 dishes were all fish - each different and with different wines which in each case complemented perfectly the dish. The first was based on Gurnard served with an excellent Sauvignon Blanc, Iona from Elgin in South Africa. A total surprise as I do not normally rate South Africa for whites. The wine was soft and fruity with just the right amount of bite. Sea Bass followed with a Spanish white and last of the fish Turbot, the message is that there are superb wines outside the obvious selection. We had the pidgin, the Chef's signature dish. Perfect, served with a mighty red. The cheese was in perfect condition and included (YES you skeptics in the UK) excellent Dutch cheese, as well as a good selection from the rest of Europe. Once again the wine choice surprised and delighted. A white Sauvignon from Switzaland; rich and fruity and it worked well with the fresh goats cheese, ripe French classics and the mature hard cheeses.
Sweet Coffee and the chefs own chocolates completed our dinner.
Not cheap, but this, food wine and service, is something memorable for a special occasion.

“Excellent restaurant”

Superb restaurant with good atmosphere. Good wine list to match the food. The tasting menu is balanced and tasty, with just the right portion size. Charming services. Probably deserve more than its current one M-star.
