“Centrally located, good value hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

I was pleased to find that this hotel is just a 15 minute walk to central Amsterdam or just two stops on the metro from Centraal station. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was standard continental fayre - with all items replaced frequently.

The room was clean and modern, if a little noisy due to the trams outside - but these do not run all night so sleep will not be disturbed.

Overall, a great place to stay in Amsterdam

This hotel is owned and run by a family. They do all the front end work themselves and they try their best and succeed big time. The rooms are comfortable if a bit small. Bathroom was modern and beautiful. Jin at the front desk couldnt have been more helpful. Its a minute from the metro and bus and tram lines and less than 30' walk to the center. The price is excellent.

Stayed in this hotel with my family and my girlfriend.
It is a further away from the the Dam square, but its good because the area where the hotel is located in very quiet and safe neighbourhood. by tram it takes 3-4 stops to get to the dam square directly, by metro it takes 2 stops directly to central station, and from there u are on the dam street which is very close to the Dam square. Rooms are ok, small but clean, beds are very small, for a double room me being 194cm it was a bid to small and not enough wide, they got some sort of different standard in size I think. Towels changed everyday and so on. Breakfast is ok, toast, sausage, egg, sweets, good cafe latte.
Make sure you buy your water, food for lunch in the grocery shops named ALBERT something, because the water in the city supermarkets costs around 2,50 euro. for a bottle, sandwiches are expensive also... if you like to chill like me during a weekend, make sure you get your alcochol sorted out, because you can not get whiskey and vodka in the supermarkets in the city, none of the shops sell them, the only place where you can get some real stuff is the big grocery store called ALBERT something (dont rememeber the full name) I was lucky I got it all sort out at the airport of Riga :)
For sure, visit Red Light District, Flower market, Leidsplein for restaurants, you got to taste the ribs at the Rancho restaurant, JUST FAB, piccolino ristorante was not the best place to eat, it took to wait nearly 2 hours for the food and the quality of it wasnt that good. Dame Square was Ok, for some drinks during a day go at the Majestic place. If you want to get some good quality meals and stuff like that, just avoid the Dam square because its all formulated for tourists... better visit leidsplein square.
On and on a good overall experience of the hotel. the guy at the reception was really friendly and fun person, always happy and smiling.
Amsterdam is a perfect place to chill with plenty stuff to do and visit. or just walk around holding hands with your girlfriend during the evening, sit down at the open air cafes by the channel have some beers or jacks with coke, talk and simply relax.
P.S be carefull of the city tours its just a rip off, they take you only there where they can sell something to you, explore the city by yourself.

The rooms are small, but clean and nice. The hotel has an elevator which is good for the luggage. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is always free Internet available in the lobby. The breakfast is for the standard of the hotel very good. The hotel is perfectly located in a safe area right next to the tram line and the underground. The first two days we walked everywhere, in 20 min you reach the main attractions in the center and the Hermitage is very close. We stayed for 4 days and we can really recommend the hotel and we will definitely stay there again when we return to Amsterdam.

The hotel is clean and well located with a metro station just nearby. The hotel was quite expensive but the hotel and services were not very good. There was no AC in the room but it was quite hot. The room and bathroom were quite small. The ventilation in the room was poor. The beds were not very confortable.

Arrived for a three night stay to discover the lobby was up 4 very narrow steep stairs. Got the luggage up only to discover that our rooms were in the building next door and up the same 4 steep stairs...after that all was well. Thankfully there is an elevator to get to the rooms. Breakfast OK - not included in the room and neither was the wifi. Hotel not air conditioned so if it had been hot, the fan in the room would not have been enough. Luckily it wasn't too warm. Electricity controlled by putting your key in the receptacle at the door which means no electricity when you leave unless you ask for two keys - a problem if you want to charge electronics.

Close to underground and bus lines so easy to get around. Wonderful restaurant just 3 blocks away recommended by the hotel staff. All in all a good end to a wonderful vacation.
