Great location only 5 minutes walk from the central station and 10 minutes walk to the Anne Frank house. As mentioned in previous reviews only 5 bedrooms (think the largest is 3 people) and 2 shared bathrooms - toilet, sink and shower - small but clean, and lastly shares kitchen area with a fridge and computer free to use. Very compact hotel but not too small you feel tight for space, rooms are basically furnished but our room (room 3) had everything we needed for a weekend including a sink (no wardrobe but hooks and hangers were fine). Stairs are very steep, especially the ones going to 3rd floor! But this is to be expected in most of the canal houses. Very clean, shared bathrooms were always spotless and had toilet paper. Hosts/owners really lovely people - breakfast (eggs, bacon, toast, cereal, juice etc) cooked fresh to order by host between 8-11 (if I remember correctly), very impressive breakfast. Complimentary coffee, tea and biscuits available throughout the day. Owner stays around till about 1pm each day then there is a phone number for contact after that.
Overall a great, friendly, boutique style hotel on a backpackers budget. Would definitely recommend and return. If a few improvements were made (such as mattress protectors and pillow protectors on bed) would definitely be a boutique hotel.
Smoking is permitted in the hotel however as non smokers we did not find the smell a problem, slight smoke smell at times nothing more.
