Description: "Set in the design-led Park Hotel, in the centre of Amsterdam is the all new MOMO Restaurant, Bar and Lounge. The very centre of the city’s fashion district, its no surprise to find a restaurant with such style right here. A true destination venue, MOMO is all shining wood floors, cool, clean lines and uber-trendy seating. Light floods in from the street, reflected around the room by huge mirrors – the epitome of sleek European design. However this concept restaurant combines this very Western styling with Eastern cuisine, flavours as colourful as the surroundings. The menu is designed for sharing allowing the diner to enjoy creating their own experience with friends. "

“Sushi made by Momo's chef Hari from Nobu is delicious”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

Delicious those big sushirolls with crab or asparagus when you don't eat fish or meat.
Ever eaten green rice? Corianderrice will surprise you. It is allways crowded in Momo, you must make reservations. But easy entrance can be made if you don't mind eating at the busy bar, where all the patjepeople show themselves with their trophy looks. The modern atmosphere is very pleasant with DJ's and vivid staff helping you quikly. Within 10minutes you have the whole ordered menu on the table so you can share the dishes. Cocktails are good and afterwards you can drink coffee with superbonbons and macarons in the lounge of the Parkhotel. We eat there everytime we are in Amsterdam, this fushion oase is close to our so art Deco hotel American on Leidseplein.

“Tourist trap”

Our first and only encounter with poor and rude service in amsterdam. Save your money and go to Burger King around the corner if you must eat in that area.

“Disappointed!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2013

Following a friends recommendation we visited Momo. We had high expectations of experiencing some amazing Asian cuisine in a contemporary restaurant. Unfortunately we left very disappointed for a numerous reasons:

1. When we sat down at 20:45 for dinner we were told that the kitchen was closing and we had to order straight away. We rushed our order having not had chance to look at the menu. I was surprised when other customers sat down well after us and continued to order food past 9pm

2. Being visitors to Amsterdam we were relying on the wifi to keep in touch with friends and family whilst away. We had to ask 4 times for the passcode

3. Thirdly and most importantly we were very disappointed with the food We ordered pad Thai and a teriyaki chicken dish (both of which I have eaten lots of times before) both dishes were overly salty which left both myself and my friend extremely thirsty. The pad Thai was so bad I sent the dish back to the kitchen. We were offered a replacement but having already eaten the majority of our meal I declined. When the bill came I asked for the pad Thai to be removed because we could not eat it. After checking with the manager The waitress informed us that it could not be removed and we would have to pay for it. For a restaurant that claims to deliver amazing food (at a high price) I do not believe this inadequate level of customer service is acceptable.

4. The final point that contributed to my rating is that we ordered a bottle of wine and the table service was so slow we had to ask 4 times for our glasses to be filled once. This was particularly frustrating because the wine bucket was placed out of reach.

Overall I would not recommend.

“Somewhat disappointing experience”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2013

We had dinner at MoMo s on a Saturday evening,we arrived a little early and had to wait at the bar for a bit, the place is usually very busy, crowded even, and that was also the case this night, but the drinks at the bar arrived in no time and the hostess was actually really attentative and seated us in no time, so far so good.

We decided to try the set menu: the MoMo's Credo (printed on the menu)is:"MoMo has no set rules.be Creative and follow your own path"
We soon learned that it did not apply to us that specific evening:since our party consisted of three,so we could not order it or just pay for 4 instead, but it would really be a lot of food the waitress told us and did not recommend us to do that!
We ordered a la carte instead..Kicked off with some Chicken Skewers, Sushi Plate,Soft Shell Crab,Jurassic Prawns(?) and the Fillet of Beef ,also ordered some still water and a bottle of wine, that all arrived in no time.

The food arrived a little later, almost an hour later and since we only had the table for 2 hours,( this was clearly stated when the hostess took us to our table),this could get exciting, but no, not the case, all the dishes we order were served in about 15 minutes, really rushy, as if they were closing soon,I told the waiter to slow pace but that did not come thru, the food itself was actually not bad, presented well and tasted quite good, the "small plates" were actually pretty ok, but the "regular" ones seemed a bit small, to small actually for the prices they charge.

After finishing the last plate, the table was immediately cleared and yet another waitress asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu, we told her that we might want to have some more food since we felt not really satisfied yet, after ordering some more food we actually decided to leave and have a dessert elsewhere.

Overall not the best experience, the location is good, food is definitely ok,the place is a quite noisy, it is hard to have a decent conversation and the brigade seems to be on steroids, at least they act very busy and do not really pay attention to customers needs and since they seem to have enough people on the floor to provide a decent customer experience some quality supervision might be appropriate.

“Food OK, poor service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2013

Entered the restaurant at 14.30 for late lunch but was told the kitchen was closed for lunch and only bar snacks would be available. After ordering some snacks it took a very long time to find out that they had actually forgotten the order. Initially it was claimed they were just busy, but it was acknowledged they actually forgot the order. I would have offered the guests a free drink for the waiting or at least an excuse. None of that. The food was okay...it was clear that the crispy calamari was prepared in a rush (no so crispy). The MoMo roll was well prepared and presented.
With a bit more attention to solving an issue for customers, this could have been a better experience (like the one we had last time we were there).
