“Wish I new places like this everywhere.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

These apartments are great. Got a 2 bedroom for less than 2 rooms in most hotels. It has a large living room and full kitchen. It doesn't offer maid service but that is the whole point. You are at home. You can feel at home. Dishwasher, washer and dryer makes it really convenient. With a great supermarket next door we are having breakfast and snacks in the comfort of our home. I would estimate that by staying here we should be saving at least 150 euros a day if compared to a regular hotel of the same category.

Totally suggest it and will come back anytime I have the chance to be in the city.

Stayed here with a group of female friends in their 40s. Excellent accommodation close to all the main areas. We felt safe and secure. Accommodation was clean and tidy with lovely views. yes it was on a main road but we were on the 6th floor so that didn't bother us. Good to have large supermarket just on corner so you could buy provisions if required. will definitely return

Very nice quiet (with windows shut) 2 bedroom apartment, double beds were comfortable, bathroom was shower only, 2 sinks, with a small separate toilet room, Kitchen had a coffee maker, microwave, 4 gas burners and a gas stove, refrigerator, breakfast bar with 4 stools. Living room had a couch with 1 chair/ footstool, small flat-screen TV with pretty good cable line-up. Internet was excellent. The staff was fantastic especially considering this is an apartment not a hotel. Jerry was always willing to book side trips. museums and events. Location is outstanding with a supermarket around the corner, many restaurants and bars nearby. Rembrandt Square 10 minute walk, Red Light District 5 minute walk, Anne Frank, 20 minutes, Van Goch and Rijksmuseum 30 minutes. Cab stand is 5 minutes away and cost about 13 Euros to the Van Goch museum.

I could not find one single fault with these apartments at all.

I checked in on Thursday 2 April and checked out on Sunday 5 April and was travelling with another 3 mid twenties to early 30s men.

The owner who greeted us in the reception was smartly dressed and well mannered. He answered all questions before they were asked before directing us to our room on the 3rd floor.

The apartment was spotless as you can see from the pictures with basics being provided i.e. toilet roll, towels, dishwasher tablets, cutlery, cooking utensils etc

The apartment is very much a serviced apartment which is reflected in the price that you pay. During our stay we didn't have a cleaner as we didn't stay long enough and being relatively tidy, we weren't fussed.

Our 2 bedroom (for 4) apartment was front facing so it overlooked the main road but surprisingly the noise level was fine. We never noticed traffic noise unless the windows were open and the rear balcony was shadowed by other apartments - again with little to no noise.

Sleep is very important to us so we were impressed by how dark and quiet the bedrooms were. Even when one person was asleep and the rest awake, the apartment was big enough so that the sleeping person wouldn't be disturbed at normal 'awake noise levels'. I attribute this to the heavy doors.

I was impressed with them supplying a Senseo coffee machine which is easy to use. We had to purchase our own coffee from the shop located round the corner which is a couple of minutes walk. We also stocked up on fruit and snacks for normal London prices haha.

Wifi is fine and we managed to stream a PPV fight on the Saturday which was a decent speed and we were all surfing the internet with no hiccups.

The RLD is less than 10 minutes walk and our preferred coffeeshop a further 10 minutes or so from there but I liked this. You're just far enough from the tourists so you can't see or hear them but close enough for a nice walk.

Here is a video I recorded of our apartment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGcDQNLI9oM

I think it was the perfect in every category. Distance from the red light district/dam sqaure. Cleanliness, service, and price. Perfect place to go when visiting for the first time, I was comfortable just as if i was at home. I will definitely go back, if not for the city but just for the apartment.

If you looking to escape the small hotel room scene is Europe then this the place for you. First off, Serge was fantastic in meeting us after hours to show us our apartment, everything went smoothly and on time. He was incredibly helpful in describing how everything worked and seemed genuinely concerned that everything was in perfect condition. Location was great, grocery right around the corner has everything you need. Checkout was easy and Serge let us store our bags in locked area for a few hours and then did a real service in calling us a cab to the airport which he had pre-negotiated the rate. Everything was first rate but I have to say the service (which I did not expect) was what made this five stars. Highly recommended.

I wish I could share the last reviewer's enthusiasm about this apartment but I can't. There are clearly pluses that other also mentioned. Among them the location in close proximity to Rembrandt's house, canals, Red Light District, supermarket, and so on. The apartment is spacious, considering the European sizes, and well divided (the living space separate from the bed rooms). The apartment though showed significant signs of wear (see photos) which gives one the impression of dirty floors and walls. If there was only one ugly impersonal street in the Center of Amsterdam that was exactly the street this apartment building is located on. Yes, depending where your apartment is situated inside the building, you may get a glimpse of the canal running at the back (see photo). Other pet peeves with this apartment: no toaster in the one we stayed in, the light on the main hallway is motion activated waking you up completely on your nightly trips to the toilet, towels are changed only once a week. Another good thing that I haven't seen mentioned by other reviewers is that the owners of the apartment offer discount parking at a nearby hotel (20 euros/day). Yes, and the people are, indeed, friendly.
