“Excellent hotel!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

Beautiful hotel, excellent bed, had a brilliant stay - however it's a bit outside of the old amsterdam center. It's in the New Amsterdam, which is a much more posh area, and actually really cool to discover (concidering we only ever stayed in the old amsterdam) But it's easy to get there and abck by tram. And we also got to see a lot of the popular museums and areas taking the tram, so I can actually recommend this. For people who want to explore amsterdam and appriciate living in a nice quality hotel - this is the one! For party people who want to hang about in the red light district and coffe chops - get a hotel in old amsterdam ;) it's as easy as that really!

We arrived here after a long flight from canada only to find out our rooms could not be ready for many hours. The concierge however was very accomadating and did her best to get us the first possible room and we appreciated her good service to us.The rooms are very modern and clean and spacious by european standards. All very scandanavian in look and I recommend slippers as this is the first hotel i have ever stayed in without carpeting( I actually much prefered this!)
The buffet breakfast is very nice though we did eat in the dining room one night and the service was terribly slow- the food however was delicious.Location is a bit far from downtown( approx 10 euro cab ride) however there are public transit stops not too far. There are not however many places to eat within walking distance- manly Korean and not much else.

Overall we had a great experience at the Musica. staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were large with all of the modern conveniences, insluding fridge, safe, phone in bathroom, etc. While not located near the Center or the canals, the area around the hotel is quiet and peaceful. No frenetic activity or honking horns. Tram is about a 10 min walk away and #5 takes you to Centraal Station and Canals. You can rent bikes for 16 euros/day. Not to far from the hotel is a shopping center with a late night Albert Heijn supermarket (open until 10pm).

The hotel is located somewhat at a distance from Amsterdam Central but is 8 mins of walk away from the nearest Metro. At a quite locale, it was a nice experience . An excellent hotel, great location, very polite and friendly staff. Strongly recommended.

it is to say, that the hotel is outside from the city centre, a 15min walk to the tram and a 20 min tram ride.
We chose this hotel bec we had a car, and they had free parking at the weekend.
It is a huge 70's style hotel which has been recently and elegantly renovated. very spacious rooms, clean and quiet.
The NH chain is my new favorite would definitely stay there again!

I had a 3 day workshop at this hotel with my company and have very mixed feelings – mostly negatively.

Pros: Nice rooms, okay standard, okay food.

Cons:
The fridge in the room was so noisy and uncovered (i.e. exposed and facing the bed) I had to unplug it in the middle of the night.

Reception messed up an important taxi-booking for 20 people so we were 30 minutes late for a meeting and they didn’t seem to be really bothered.

VC facilities not available except at extremely high cost.

WIFI was free but exceptionally slow.

Location is not fantastic.

Got an amazing deal through Priceline on this hotel - as others have noted, access to public transportation is a real drag, and what keeps me from rating this higher. Clean, good service, and close to the RAI (I walked it most days, 20m). Not sure I could stay her at full published prices, but for a last minute booking at a steep discount, it was very handy.
